Soils evolve under the state factors such as the parent material, climate, topography, time and the organisms. The duration of soil formation determines soil properties and weathering rates in different ways for instance by changing the physical, chemical and mineralogical properties of soils or by forming a number of different soil horizons. The aim of this study is to determine soil pedogenesis formed on different psychographic units and similar parent materials under semi-arid climatic condition. Study area is characterized with mesic soil temperature regime and xeric moisture regime. Soil formations were highly associated with major psychographic factors and parent materials which are influenced on the morphological and physico-chemical characteristics of the soils. It was observed that soil pedons on alluvial lands were well developed while, pedons formed on eroded lands have weak pedogenesis process. Six soil profiles were classified as Entisol and Inceptisol, according to Soil Taxonomy.
