A STUDY OF SCALING WITH RANKING JUDGMENT METHOD ON CHARACTERISTIC OF EFFECTIVE TEACHER

Abstract

This study is conducted are descriptive and order of importance to determine the characteristics of effective teachers. Population of the study is 1087 teachers and 167 elementary school principals whom working in the academic year 2011-2012 the province of Kilis. Research sample consists of 229 teachers and 34 managers. "Effective Teacher Characteristics Form" which include seven item given to the participants were asked to rank these features. Teachers in this study, as the first feature of effective teachers "create a behavioral model is ideal for students" feature, last in the "high expectations of the students have to learn and you can succeed in" feature, which they understood. School administrators during the first property of the effective teachers "education-teaching-related issues, in cooperation with the work" feature, ranked last in the "high expectations of the students have to learn and you can succeed in" feature to see it

ETKİLİ ÖĞRETMEN ÖZELLİKLERİ ÜZERİNE SIRALAMA YÖNTEMİYLE BİR ÖLÇEKLEME ÇALIŞMASI

Öz

Tarama modeline dayalı betimsel nitelikli bu araştırmada, etkili öğretmen özelliklerinin önem sırasının katılımcıların görüşlerine göre belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Araştırmanın evrenini 2011-2012 eğitim-öğretim yılında Kilis il merkezinde görev yapan 1087 öğretmen ve 167 ilköğretim okulu yöneticisi; örneklemini ise 229 öğretmen ve 34 yönetici oluşturmaktadır. Katılımcılara 7 maddeden oluşan “Etkili Öğretmen Özellikleri Formu” verilerek bu özellikleri sıralamaları istenmiştir. Araştırmada öğretmenlerin, etkili öğretmen özelliği olarak ilk sırada “öğrenciler için ideal bir davranış modeli oluşturmaları” özelliğini; son sırada ise “öğrencilerin öğrenebileceği ve başarabileceğine ilişkin yüksek beklentilere sahip olmaları” özelliğini gösterdikleri anlaşılmıştır. Okul yöneticileri ise etkili öğretmen özelliğinin ilk sırasında “eğitim-öğretimle ilgili konularda, işbirliği içinde çalışmaları” özelliğini görürlerken, son sırada ise “öğrencilerin öğrenebileceği ve başarabileceğine ilişkin yüksek beklentilere sahip olmaları” özelliğini görmektedirler
