Ethmoid sinüs osteoma with orbital extension

Öz

Osteoma is the most common neoplasm of the paranasal sinuses. A fifty-year-old woman who had presented with complaints of protrusion of the eyeball and double Vision was referred to our department with a diagnosis of proptosis. Computed tomography of the paranasal sinuses and the orbits showed a high-densi- ty mass of 2x3 cm, involving the left ethmoidal cells laterally, the left maxillary sinüs superomedially, the left orbit inferomedially, and the nasal cavity superiorly. The mass was removed through the external ethmoidectomy approach. Postoperatively, ali visual functions improved. The pathologic diagnosis was osteoma.

Orbital yayılımlı etmoid sinüs osteomu

Öz

Osteom burun ve paranazal sinüslerin en sık rastla- nılan neoplazmıdır. Göz küresinin öne itilmesi ve çift görme yakınmaları ile baflvuran 50 yaflındaki kadın hasta, kliniğimize tek taraflı sol proptozis tanısı ile sevk edildi. Paranazal sinüs ve orbita bilgisayarlı to- mografisinde solda etmoid hücrelerin laterali, mak- siller sinüs süperomediali, orbita inferomediali ve na- zal kavite superiorunda yer alan, 2x3 cm boyutların- da hiperdens kitle görüldü. Kitle eksternal etmoidek- tomi yaklaflımı ile çıkarıldı. Ameliyat sonrası dönem- de hastanın görme fonksiyonları düzeldi. Patolojik inceleme sonucunda osteom tanısı kondu
