“Yazarın Ölümü” Temasında Gadamer

Hans-Georg Gadamer, a significant figure in twentieth-century philosophical hermeneutics, transformed philosophical hermeneutics from a methodological problem into an ontological basis for understanding and was deeply influenced by Heidegger’s philosophy of being. Gadamer stands out with his critical stance against the method fetishism of modernity, the strict rationalism of the Cartesian subject and against prejudice, by placing the concepts of language, history and tradition at the centre. At the same time, by synthesizing hermeneutic formation and reorganizing the act of understanding as a dialogical and historical process, Gadamer rejects the hermeneutic understanding that considers the author’s intention as absolute in determinant the text-writer-reader relationship. According to him, meaning is constructed dynamically in the process of merging the text with the historical horizons of the writer and reader. This perspective offers a distinct approach to the theme of the ‘death of the author,’ diverging from postmodern approaches that deconstruct authorial authority. The author remains a voice participating in the dialogue, not an absolute authority. This study aims to analyze the dialectical relationship between the text, the author, and the reader within Gadamer’s hermeneutic system, and how this contributes to the discussion of the ‘death of the author’ in this context.

Yirminci yüzyıl felsefi Hermeneutik hareketinin önemli bir ismi olan Hans-Georg Gadamer, felsefi hermeneutiği metodolojik bir sorun olmaktan çıkararak anlamayı ontolojik bir temele oturtan ve Heidegger’in varlık felsefesinden derinlemesine etkilenen önemli bir düşünürdür. Dil, tarih ve gelenek kavramlarını merkeze alan Gadamer, modernitenin yöntem fetişizmine, Kartezyen öznenin katı rasyonalizmine ve önyargıya karşı önyargıya yönelik eleştirel tutumuyla öne çıkar. Aynı zamanda, hermeneutik mirası sentezleyerek, anlama edimini diyalojik ve tarihsel bir süreç olarak yeniden tanımlayan Gadamer, metin-yazar-okur ilişkisinde, yazarın niyetini mutlak belirleyici sayan hermeneutik anlayışı reddeder. Ona göre anlam, metin ile yazar ve okurun tarihsel ufuklarının kaynaşması sürecinde dinamik olarak inşa edilir. Bu perspektif, ‘yazarın ölümü’ temasına, yazar otoritesini yapıbozuma uğratan postmodern yaklaşımlardan farklı bir yaklaşım getirir. Yazar, mutlak otorite değil, ancak diyaloğa katılan bir ses olarak varlığını sürdürür. Bu çalışma, Gadamer’in hermeneutik sisteminde metnin, yazarın ve okurun nasıl bir diyalektik içinde konumlandığını ve bu bağlamda ‘yazarın ölümü’ tartışmasına nasıl bir katkı sunduğunu analiz etmeyi hedeflemektedir.
