This study aims to investigate the effects of the concurrent training method on the speed and agility performance of football players aged 18 and above. Nineteen volunteer football players competing in the Konya Amateur Super League participated in our study. This study was conducted on a total of 19 volunteer football players with an average age of 20.42±1.07 years. The participants were randomly divided into experimental (n=10) and control (n=9) groups. All participants had normal physical characteristics and had no history of injury. Before the study, 20m speed, 30m speed and agility pre-tests were applied to both groups on the football field. Data analysis was performed using SPSS 26.0 software. Within the scope of descriptive statistics, arithmetic mean values and standard deviation values were calculated and presented. In the tests performed before the study, the experimental group's speed (20m) pre-test average was found to be 2.88±.09 sec., speed (30m) pre-test average was found to be 3.90±.17 sec., and agility pre-test average was found to be 9.49±.50 sec. In the control group, the speed (20m) pre-test average was determined as 2.81±.13 sec., speed (30m) pre-test average was 3.84±.12 sec., and agility pre-test average was 9.31±.35 sec. No statistically significant difference was found in the speed (20m), speed (30m) and agility pre-test results of the experimental and control group athletes who participated in the research (p>0.05). While the experimental group was subjected to a 6-week simultaneous training program in addition to the normal training program, the control group only continued their routine training. In the post-tests conducted after the 6-week study, the speed (20m) post-test average of the experimental group was determined as 2.59±.19, speed (30m) post-test average was 3.49±.19 sec., and agility post-test average was 8.88±.35 sec. In the control group, the speed (20m) post-test average was measured as 2.83±.11 sec., the speed (30m) post-test average was 3.82±.12 sec., and the agility post-test average was 9.30±.45 sec. When the within-group comparison of the experimental and control group athletes in the research was examined, a significant difference was found in the speed (20m), speed (30m) and agility pre-test - post-test values of the concurrent training group athletes (p<0.05). No significant difference was found in the pre-test - post-test speed (20m), speed (30m) and agility values in the control group athletes. When the post-test results of the experimental and control group athletes in the research were compared, a statistically significant difference was found between the 20 m and 30 m speed tests and agility tests (p<0.05). As a result, it was observed that the simultaneous training method was effective in improving the speed and agility performances of football players during the competition period.
