People, societies and states have become dependent on each other with globalization. Technology has increased this dependence. Globalization has influenced and changed cultures. Mass media and interaction have brought a new lifestyle. Globalization has taken cultures into its scope with its effective, widespread, dominant, powerful and fast tools. People, societies, countries look for a place between local cultures and globalization. Local cultures and those that are global and beneficial are needed to be protected. The harmful, destructive and corrosive effects of globalization must also be avoided. Coexistence has become unavoidable with globalization.
Globalization has started in the economic sphere. It has become a new mode of behavior and management for the dominant powers. It is very effective in political and social fields. The cultural field is at a stage where the effects of globalization are seen intensively. A global and single culture is aimed. However, Internet and social media tools provide with opportunities also for local cultures. In this respect, globalization is not always a harmful process.
There are historical and contemporary examples of successful coexistence, multicultural society and civilization. Humanity has to achieve coexistence. This can be achieved and accomplished on the basis of virtue, right, justice, love, respect and human values.
