SELECTIVE AND SENSITIVE DETERMINATION OF TANNIC ACID USING A 1-BENZOYL-3-(PYRROLIDINE) THIOUREAFILM MODIFIED GLASSY CARBON ELECTRODE
Abstract
In this study
the selective determination of tannic acid (TA) was performed using a glassy
carbon (GC) electrode modified with 1-Benzoyl-3-(pyrrolidine) thiourea (PrTu).
PrTuwas deposited on the GC electrode in nonaqueous media by cyclic
voltammetry. PrTu-GC electrode demonstrated an electrocatalytical effect on the
oxidation of TA using differential pulse voltammetry (DPV) method in 0.1 M
Britton Robinson (BR) buffer solution of pH 2. Under optimum conditions linear
calibration graphs were obtained over the TA concentration range 2.0×10−6 to
4.2×10−5 M. The detection of limit (LOD) was found as 0.6 µM. The proposed
electrode was applied to the determination of TA in tea sample with
satisfactory results.
