Biocidal products that formed mostly chemicals are used in increasing amounts in all areas of human life, on the other side they carry some risks. Biocidal products threaten food safety with contaminating foodstuffs at different stages of use. Safe use of these products is very important to protect public health. Biocidals which are especially used in human hygiene, disinfectant and algicides, food medium and water disinfectant, during storage of processed food and control of pests, are known to contamination states to people from the production of food in the field to preparation in the kitchen till consuming. Therefore it is critical to know contamination source for treaceability of products, to provide food safety. The usage of biocidals brought up not to ignore the residue situation in biocidals. However there is a need to set up a new maximum residue limit or use same limits for the active substances related regulation of biocides is still ongoing in EU agenda. Residue issue of biocidal contaminants is important subject for regulatory authorizations and consumers. In this paper, case and determination of residue limits of biocidal products are assessed.
