Reflections of Some Elements Concerning the Communication to the Language Education Process

Abstract

Foreign students are enabled to learn Turkish and Turkish culture thanks to Turkish education centers established specifically within the body of the universities in our country. Although all conditions of educational process of Turkish as a foreign language is prepared in the best way, it may be interrupted due to communicational problems experienced between the students and the administrators from time to time. Due to this situation perceived as “noise” in Communication process both the students and the institution officers may be affected negatively. In this regard, determining communication problems arising in the field of teaching Turkish to foreigners shall make contribution in the field. Objective of this study is determining how the students receiving training at Sakarya University TÖMER (Turkish and Foreign Languages Research and Application Center) decode the problems they experience and send to the other party, and describing which decryption process which the problems decoded by the students encounter with by the target opponent.       


The research is a product of a qualitative study and phenomenological design is used. Data is collected by interview used in phenomenological studies. Foreign students receiving training from Sakarya University TÖMER, administrators and lecturers constitute the sampling of the study. Data obtained as a result of negotiations are grouped thematically and analyzed.
