Yıl 2020, Cilt: 3 Sayı: 2, 42 - 51, 28.12.2020

Coronaviruses, a large group of single-chain RNA viruses, were named as Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) in February 2020 and have been declared pandemics worldwide by the World Health Organization. A specific treatment protocol defined for the disease has still not been reported. This situation creates serious obscurity for all health professionals working in the field. In the literature; İt is stated that nurses have a high risk of virus transmission, constant exposure to emotional stress factors, excessive workload, moral dilemmas, uncertainties about the content of patient care, and problems in maintaining their own physical and mental health during working hours. There are various pharmacological approaches in the literature used for COVID-19. Nurses must have sufficient knowledge of these approaches. For this reason, it is very important to establish and implement correct planning and management strategies in the shortest time possible for the management of the COVID-19 pandemic. The purpose of writing this review is to provide literature information on the effects of COVID-19 from the nursing perspective.
