Nursing care, the most important concept in providing quality and qualified service, is neglected for various reasons and is included in scientific studies as a global problem threatening patient safety. Whereas there are many evidence-based scientific studies abroad on missed nursing care, included in the patient safety literature as a mistake of negligence, a limited number of publications are available in Turkey. In the literature, there are studies on the size, causes and consequences of missed nursing care. Missed nursing care causes negative consequences for both patients and nurses. In this review, it is aimed to let the nurses and health institutions have information about missed nursing care and taking necessary precautions and to raise awareness about this negligence error.
