A SYSTEMATIC REVIEW OF GREEN PORT MANAGEMENT AND DEVELOPMENT STRATEGIES

Yıl 2025, Sayı: 3, 124 - 143, 29.12.2025

Economic, social, and environmental sustainability are all aided by sustainable ports. The finite resources that need to be preserved are the primary focus of sustainability. Focusing on all three dimensions is essential instead of only making progress in one. However, addressing social and environmental concerns to guarantee sustainability has a good impact on both consumer retention and the economy. The port industry has experienced substantial transformation and innovations in recent years and has recently encountered significant technological innovations and organisational restructuring, reshaping port management and the maritime supply chain. Environmental sustainability has emerged as a central concern, marked by a growing interest in reducing emissions and other externalities (e.g., noise), and transitioning to cleaner operational practices. This increased focus has prompted studies on green ports, and thorough assessments of their environmental effects are a major force for long-term change. The literature is systematically reviewed in this work by doing bibliographic data search and screening, revealing previous researches, new developments and future directions for sustainable green ports. This study gives useful review of insights and practical advice to promote future research and make it easier to put green ports programs.
