Abstract

Evaluation of Socio-Economic Criteria In Transportation Planning

Abstract

Today, with the development of the health sector
and the increase in the importance given to human health, huge investments are
made in hospitals. The fact that these investments have a very important place
in the state budget requires efficient planning when investments are being
made. In the study, a demand model was created for the trips made from the
house to the hospital using the questionnaires made within the scope of the
Eskisehir Transportation Master Plan of the year 2015. In this context, 16 different
regions and a total of 11144 valid questionnaires were used in the center of
Eskişehir. The effect of the population, employment rate, average income
situation on hospital trips in the relevant regions was investigated. The least
squares technique is used in the established multiple regression model. The
effect of population and income on hospital journeys is significant but the
effect of employment is not significant. Despite this, the rate of disclosure
of hospital trips of the model was determined as 0.873. In other words,
hospital trips can be explained by about 87% with population and average
income. The established model can be used as a conclusion because it provides
assumptions.
