With exceptional features, tales, although being entertaining andthought-provoking for children, also have a relaxing and readable attribute in almost every generation. These texts, which are among the anonymous products of folk literature, providecultural transfer with many elements embedded within the content where as providing education an dentertainment. Tales, which are located on a cultural basis andisone of the products of the Turkish oral tradition, also contain elements from the archaic time. Particularly in these products, where mythological artefactsare abundant, elements based on the concept of the cultareal soevident. Tales, in which the protagonist figurelive in an imaginary world;are extremely important as they implicitly convey the judgments based on the values of there spective society. Many, common elements appear as cults, including but not limited to Fire, trees, the sun and the moon. The cults that we as sume,reflect a common qualification. One of these common cults is portrayed as “Water”. There fore, the purification of this water is regarded as a sacred endeavour for the conservation of there spective cult. In this study, the tales in the study titled “Türk Dünyasının Nağıl Bağı Masal Bahçesi” published by Türksoy will be examined and these tales will be examined in the context of water cult.
