Examining the Postural Awareness Levels of Working Women

Öz

Aim: Today, the increased use of technological devices and demanding work conditions cause people to spend long hours in the same position, disrupting their posture. The purpose of this study was to examine the postural awareness levels of working women.
Methods: 403 women participated in the study voluntarily. Postural awareness levels were examined in terms of age, working years, daily working hours and regular exercise status variables. "Postural Awareness Scale (PAS)" was used as the data collection tool in the study. In the statistical analysis of the data, One Way Anova was applied for variables with more than two groups, and Independent Sample T test was applied for variables with two groups.
Results: When examining the postural awareness levels in terms of the age variable and the working year variable, it was found that the participants with lower age and working year had significantly higher awareness levels than the other participants. In the examination conducted in terms of the daily working hours variable, it was found that participants with low working hours had significantly higher postural awareness levels than participants with high working hours. In the examination made in terms of regular exercise status variable, it was found that those who exercise regularly had significantly higher postural awareness levels than those who did not.
Conclusion: As a result, it was determined that working women have low postural awareness levels, postural awareness decreases as age and working years increase, daily working hours negatively affect postural awareness, and exercise increases postural awareness.

Çalışan Kadınların Postüral Farkındalık Düzeylerinin İncelenmesi

Öz

Amaç: Günümüzde teknolojik cihazların kullanımının artması ve yoğun çalışma koşulları insanların aynı duruş pozisyonunda uzun saatler geçirmelerine ve vücut postür yapılarının bozulmasına sebep olmaktadır. Bu doğrultuda araştırmanın amacı, çalışan kadınların postüral farkındalık düzeylerinin incelenmesi olarak belirlenmiştir.
Yöntem: Araştırmaya 403 kadın gönüllü olarak katılmışlardır. Postüral farkındalık düzeyleri, yaş, çalışma yılı, günlük çalışma saati ve düzenli egzersiz yapma durumu değişkenleri açısından incelenmiştir. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak “Postüral Farkındalık Ölçeği (PFÖ)” kullanılmıştır. Verilerin istatistiksel analizinde, ikiden fazla gruplu değişkenlerde One Way Anova, iki gruplu değişkenlerde Independent Samle T testi uygulanmıştır.
Bulgular: Yaş değişkeni ve çalışma yılı değişkeni açısından postüral farkındalık düzeylerinin incelenmesinde, yaş ve çalışma yılı düşük olan katılımcıların diğer katılımcılara göre anlamlı derecede daha yüksek farkındalık düzeyine sahip oldukları tespit edilmiştir. Günlük çalışma saati değişkeni açısından yapılan incelemede, çalışma saati düşük olan katılımcıların çalışma saati fazla olan katılımcılara göre anlamlı derecede daha yüksek postüral farkındalık düzeyine sahip oldukları tespit edilmiştir. Düzenli egzersiz yapma durumu değişkeni açısından yapılan incelemede, düzenli egzersiz yapanların yapmayanlara göre anlamlı derecede daha yüksek postüral farkındalık düzeyine sahip oldukları tespit edilmiştir.
Sonuç: Çalışan kadınların postüral farkındalık düzeylerinin düşük olduğu, yaş ve çalışma yılı arttıkça postüral farkındalığın azaldığı, günlük çalışma saatlerinin postüral farkındalığı olumsuz olarak etkilediği ve egzersiz yapmanın postüral farkındalığı artırdığı tespit edilmiştir.
