Application of Mwp Magnitude to the October 23, 2011 Van, Turkey Earthquake

Abstract

A great earthquake of Mw7.2 occurred in Van, Turkey on October 23, 2011 10:41:20.810 (UTC). Magnitude of this earthquake announced in different values by the two national institute that are Prime Ministry Disaster & Emergency Management Presidency, Earthquake Department and Boğazici University Kandilli Observatory Earthquake Research Institute. This work fast and as far as possible with the correct magnitude can be calculated using the magnitude of Mwp is shown and it calculated as 7.1

Mwp Büyüklüğü'nün 23 Ekim 2011 Van, Türkiye Depremine Uygulanması

Öz

23 Ekim 2011 tarih ve 10:41:20.810 (UTC) saatinde Van ilinde Mw=7.2 büyüklüğünde deprem meydana gelmiştir. Bu depreme ait büyüklük, ülkemizde kurulu bulunan Başbakanlık Afet ve Acil Durum Yönetimi Başkanlığı Deprem Dairesi ve Boğaziçi Üniversitesi Kandilli Rasathanesi ve Deprem Araştırma Enstitüsü tarafından farklı değerlerle kamuoyuna duyurulmuştur. Bu çalışma ile Mwp büyüklüğü 7.1 olarak hesaplanmış ve bu yolla hızlı ve mümkün olabildiğince doğru büyüklüğün hesaplanabileceği gösterilmektedir
