Hastaların Ortodontik Tedavi için Fakülte veya Özel Klinik Tercih Etme Sebeplerinin Değerlendirilmesi

Öz

Amaç: Bu çalışmanın amacı hastaların ortodontik tedavi amacı ile fakülte veya özel klinik tercih etme nedenlerinin belirlenip değerlendirilmesidir. Gereç ve Yöntem: Bu prospektif, kesitsel çalışma 2018-2020 yılları arasında Van Yüzüncü Yıl Üniversitesi Diş Hekimliği Fakültesi Ortodonti Bölümü ile Van bölgesinde yer alan çeşitli özel diş kliniklerinde ortodontik tedavi gören hastalarda gerçekleştirildi. Toplam 200 hastanın ortodontik tedavi için diş hekimliği fakültesi veya özel klinik tercih etme sebeplerinin değerlendirilmesi amacıyla anket uygulaması yapılmıştır. İstatistiksel anlamlılık p<0,05 olarak kabul edildi. Bulgular: Çalışmaya 2018-2020 tarihleri arasında Van Yüzüncü Yıl Üniversitesi Diş Hekimliği Fakültesi Ortodonti Anabilim Dalı Kliniği'nde ve Van bölgesinde özel kliniklerde tedavi gören %64,5’i (n=129) kadın, %35,5’i (n=71) erkek toplam 200 hasta dahil edildi. Özel klinikte ortodontik tedavi olan hastaların yaşları diş hekimliği fakültesine gidenlere göre istatistiksel olarak anlamlı düzeyde yüksek saptanmıştır (p=0,001; p<0,01). Kadınların özel diş kliniğine gitme oranı, erkeklere göre istatistiksel olarak anlamlı düzeyde yüksek saptanmıştır (p=0,001; p<0,01). Maddi duruma göre hastaların ortodontik tedavisinin yapıldığı klinikler arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı farklılık saptanmamıştır (p>0,05). Özel klinikte tedavi olan hastaların hekimini tavsiye üzerine tercih ettiği saptanmıştır. Sonuç: Hastaların ortodontik tedavi olmak için klinik seçimi yapmasında; hekim tavsiyesi, hasta-hekim iletişimi, klinik ortam şartları, hijyen, maliyet gibi birçok sebep yönlendirici olmaktadır.

Evaluation of the Reasons of Patients to Prefer Faculty or Private Clinic for Orthodontic Treatment

Öz

Objective: The aim of this study is to determine and evaluate the reasons why patients prefer faculty or private clinic for orthodontic treatment. Materials and Methods: This prospective, cross-sectional study was conducted between 2018-2020 in patients who received orthodontic treatment in Van Yüzüncü Yıl University, Faculty of Dentistry, Department of Orthodontics and various private dental clinics in the Van region. A questionnaire was applied to evaluate the reasons for choosing a dental faculty or private clinic for orthodontic treatment of 200 patients in total. Statistical significance was accepted as p <0.05. Results: 64.5% (n = 129) female, 35.5% (n = 71) male who were treated in the Van Yüzüncü Yıl University Faculty of Dentistry Department of Orthodontics and private clinics in the Van region between 2018-2020 a total of 200 patients were included. The ages of the patients who received orthodontic treatment in private clinics were found to be statistically significantly higher than those who went to the dental school (p <0.01). The rate of women going to private hospitals was found to be statistically significantly higher than men (p <0.01). No statistically significant difference was found between the hospitals where orthodontic treatment of the patients was performed according to the financial situation (p> 0.05). It has been determined that patients receiving treatment in private clinics prefer their physician upon recommendation. Conclusion: In the clinical selection of the patients for orthodontic treatment; Many reasons such as physician advice, patient physician communication, clinical environment conditions, hygiene, cost are guiding.
