Macroanatomical Investigations of Plexus Brachialis and Its Branches in The Malaklı Dog
Öz
This study examined ten healthy adult Malaklı dogs to determine the origin and course of nerves innervating the forelimb. Cadavers were fixed in 10% formaldehyde for 14 days before anatomical dissection. The brachial plexus consisted of spinal nerves C6–T1 in eight specimens (80%) and C6–T2 in two specimens (20%). The nervus suprascapularis and nervi subscapulares were found to originate from the ventral branches of the sixth and seventh cervical spinal nerves. The nervus musculocutaneus was observed to it originates from the ventral branch of the C6 and C7 cervical spinal nerve and is together with the nervus pectoralis cranialis at its origin, after leaving it, gives a connecting branch to the nervus medianus in the upper 1/3 of the articulatio cubiti. It was determined that the nervus radialis is the thickest nerve formed by the ventral branch of the seventh and eighth cervical spinal nerves and the first thoracic spinal nerve and emerging from the plexus brachialis macroscopically. The nervus medianus appeared as a common root with nervus ulnaris in all of the materials used in the study. It was determined that eight of the materials were formed by C8-T1 and two of them were formed by the ventral branches of C8-T2.
