While climate change was initially regarded as a scientific and technicalissue, the gradually increasing bases of knowledge have shown that thedimensions of this issue are far more extensive. Climate change is a socioeconomic problem as well as an environmental one. For this reason, in orderto fully understand and cope with climate change, it is necessary to ensurethat social, economic, and political issues are addressed together.The importance of gender equality in combating climate change is notperceived at first sight because data, research or case studies in this field arenegligible. However, there are a series of factors emphasizing the significanceof gender and the importance of women to combat climate change, and it isimportant to consider these factors to be able to achieve adaptation to theimpacts in cases where climate change is inevitable or to be able to prevent it

İklim Değişikliği ve Toplumsal Cinsiyet Politika Belirleme Süreçleri

Öz

İklim değişikliği, başlangıçta bilimsel ve teknik bir konu olarak görülmesinekarşın artan bilgi temelleriyle etkilerinin çok daha kapsamlı olduğu anlaşılmıştır. İklim değişikliği bir çevre sorunu olarak görülmekle birlikte aynı zamanda sosyo-ekonomik bir sorundur. Bu nedenle iklim değişikliğini tam olarak anlamak ve başa çıkabilmek için sosyal, ekonomik ve siyasi konuların birarada ele alınmasını sağlamak lazımdır. İklim değişikliği ile mücadelede toplumsal cinsiyet eşitliğinin önemi ilkbakışta anlaşılmamaktadır. Bunun nedeni bu alanda verilerin, araştırmalarınya da vaka incelemelerinin yok denecek kadar az olmasındandır. Oysa iklimdeğişikliği ile mücadelede toplumsal cinsiyetin anlamını vurgulayan bir dizifaktör vardır ve iklim değişikliğinin kaçınılmaz olduğu durumlara ve etkilereuyum sağlayabilmek ya da iklim değişikliğini önleyebilmek için bu faktörleri dikkate almak önemlidir
