Öz

Yöntem bilgisi, özünde felsefi anlam katmanlarını barındıran bir kavramdır. Bu katmanlardan “logos”u yani “us”u merkezine alan yöntem bilgisi; ele alınacak konunun veya hipotezin mantık, ölçü, oran, söz, düşünme vd. duygudan ayrılan teknik unsurlarla değerlendirmesini içerir. Bu kıstaslar altında bugüne kadar yazılmış çeşitli Türk edebiyatı tarihlerini ele aldığımızda, yöntem bilgisi açısından çok sesli bir ortam oluştuğu görülür. Üstelik Türk tarihinin de çok sesli olması, edebiyat tarihlerinin muhtevasını içinde bulunduğu döneme göre biçimlendirmiş ve birçok çeşitli kıstasa göre yazımını gerektirmiştir. Bu minvalde iki bölüme ayrılan kitabın ilk kısmı Osmanlı döneminde yazılmış edebiyat tarihlerini ele alırken, ikinci kısım ise Cumhuriyet dönemindeki edebiyat tarihi yazıcılığını değerlendirmektedir. Bu bölümlendirmenin muhtevası ve yöntem bilgisi, giriş kısmında verilen genel çerçevede sunulan beş soruya cevap aramaktadır. Bu beş soruya verilen cevaplarsa Türk edebiyatında kendine özgü bir yer edinmiş olan “edebiyat tarihçiliği”nin serüvenini tartmamıza vesile olmuştur. Bu tanıtım yazısında, kitap içerisinde yazılan bölümlerden hareketle Türk edebiyatında edebiyat tarihlerinin yazılışının nasıllığı ve daha önemlisi niçinliğini göstermeye çalışılacaktır.

About the Histories of Turkish Literature in Terms of Methodology

Öz

Methodological knowledge is a concept that contains layers of philosophical meaning. Methodology, which centres on ‘logos’, i.e. ‘reason’, includes the evaluation of the subject or hypothesis to be handled with technical elements such as logic, measure, proportion, word, thinking, etc., which are separated from emotion. When we consider various histories of Turkish literature written so far under these criteria, it is seen that there is a polyphonic environment in terms of methodology. Moreover, the fact that Turkish history is polyphonic has shaped the content of literary histories according to the period in which they are written and required them to be written according to many different criteria. In this respect, the first part of the book, which is divided into two parts, deals with the histories of literature written in the Ottoman period, while the second part evaluates the historiography of literature in the Republican period. The content and methodology of this division seek answers to five questions presented in the general framework given in the introduction. The answers to these five questions enable us to weigh the adventure of ‘literary historiography’, which has gained a unique place in Turkish literature. In this introductory article, we will try to show how and, more importantly, why histories of literature are written in Turkish literature based on the chapters written in the book.
