In newly established fields of science, unity in the terms provides a great benefit. This benefit is not necessarily restricted to the unity itself. In addition to that, this unity acts a basis for the upcoming works in the field and also contributes to the continuity of the field. Since dictionary research is a relatively new field of study, differences in terms could be observed. The aims of this article is focus on the different usages of terms used in dictionary research studies in specific terms such as lexicography and lexicology, and offer recommendations to establish unity in terms used in dictionary research.
