The aim of this research is to determine the relation between the handling levels of foreign language anxiety and emotional intelligence levels of secondary school students. This study is a descriptive and quantitative research in survey model. The participants of the research consist of 500 students studying at a secondary school in a city centre in the Western Black Sea Region, Turkey. As the data collection instrument, Foreign Language Learning Anxiety Scale and Bar-On Emotional Quotient Inventory: Youth Version developed by Bar-On and Parker were used. At the end of the research, it was understood that there is a positive and medium-level relation between the level of handling foreign language anxiety and emotional intelligence level of secondary school students. On the other hand, there are low and medium-level relations between the sub-factors of foreign language anxiety and emotional intelligence. In addition, there are significant differences according to gender and grade level in some of the sub-factors of foreign language anxiety and emotional intelligence.
