Öz

Schwannomalar çoğunlukla asemptomatik seyreden kaynağı periferik veya kraniyal sinir kılıfı
hücreleri olan benign tümörlerdir. Nadir görülen ve düşük büyüme hızlı tümörlerdir. Klinik olarak
rastlantısal, basıya bağlı semptomlar veya ele gelen kitle ile fark edilirler Baş, boyun ve
ekstremitelerin fleksör yüzeylerinde daha sık ortaya çıkarlar. Antik schwannomalara daha çok
retroperitonda ve gövdede rastlanır. Tanı radyolojik görüntüleme yöntemleri ile konulur. Tedavisi
cerrahidir. Hastalığın tanısı patolojik incelemede yüksek sellülarite gösteren Antoni A ve hiposellüler
alanları daha fazla olan Antoni B hücrelerinin görülmesi ve immunhistokimyasal olarak S100 ile
kuvvetli boyanma varlığı ile kesinleştirilir.

Schwannomas are mostly asymptomatic benign tumors originating from peripheral or cranial nerve sheath cells. They are rare and slow growing tumors that may present with compression-related symptoms, as a palpable mass or incidentaloma. Schwannoma, which is frequently located on the flexor surfaces of the head, neck and extremities, is usually diagnosed by radiological and pathognomonic microscopic and immunohistochemistry features. Herein, we report the case of a 31-year-old woman who presented with a palpable mass on lateral abdominal wall.

Ancient Schwannoma of Abdominal Wall: A Case Report

Schwannomas are mostly asymptomatic benign tumors originating from peripheral or cranial nerve sheath cells. They are
rare and slow-growing tumors that may present with compression-related symptoms such as a palpable mass or incidentaloma. Schwannoma, which is frequently located on the
flexor surfaces of the head, neck, and extremities, is usually diagnosed by radiological and pathognomonic microscopic and
immunohistochemistry features. Herein, we report the case of
a 31-year-old woman who presented with a palpable mass on
the lateral abdominal wall.
