Effect Of Ice On The Early Age Concrete

Abstract

In this paper, effect of ice on the concrete and mechanical properties of frozened concrete was investigated. In the study, 100x100x100 mm specimens were used. All mixtures were prepared in ratio of 0.65 water/cement and 300 kg/m3 cement content. Specimens were frozened at ?20 oC throughought 24 hours, then ultrasonic velocity, schmidt hammer and compressive strength tested on the 3, 7 and 28 ages. At the same ratios of mixtures, control concrete was produced and same tests were applied on these specimens and results were compared and evaluated. According to obtained results, it was observed that while freezing of water that was entered in the concrete via cappilarity of concrete was increased strength of concrete about 25 %.

Erken Yaşlardaki Beton Üzerinde Buzun Etkisi

Öz

Bu çalışmada betonlarda buzun beton üzerindeki etkileri ve betonun donmuş haldeki mekanik özellikleri araştırılmıştır. Çalışmada 100x100x100 mm3 boyutlarındaki küp numuneler kullanılmıştır. Tüm karışımlar 0.65 su/çimento oranında ve 300 kg/m3 çimento dozajlı olarak hazırlanmıştır. Hazırlanan numuneler 3, 7 ve 28. günlerde 24 saat ?20 oC?de dondurulduktan sonra donmuş numuneler üzerinde ultrases geçiş süresi, schmidt çekici okumaları ve basınç dayanımı deneyleri yapılmıştır. Aynı karışım oranında kontrol betonu da üretilmiş olup, 3, 7 ve 28. günlerde aynı deneyler yapılarak sonuçlar karşılaştırılmıştır. Elde edilen sonuçlara göre betonun içerisine kılcal yollardan girmiş olan suyun donmasıyla betonun dayanımını yaklaşık % 25 oranında arttırdığı gözlenmiştir.
