Lipid and Fatty Acid Content of Fish and TheirSome Important Metabolic Functions

Öz

Lipids, fatty acids and proteins are the main organic components of fish. These components are important as being the
sources of metabolic energy needed for growth, reproduction and movement including migration. Also long chain
highly unsaturated omega-3 fatty acids play critical physiological role in the diet of human and animals. Occurring huge
amounts and unique make omega-3fatty acids popular for a long time. Another causative effect that make them
important is the need of investigation of nutritional necessarities of aquaculture fish. It was compiled some information
about fish lipids, fatty acids and some specific metabolic functions of these components in fish.

Balıklarda Lipitler, Yağ Asitleri ve Bunların Bazı Önemli Metabolik Fonksiyonları

Öz

Lipitler ve içerdikleri yağ asitleri, proteinlerle birlikte balıkların temel organik bileşenlerinden birini oluşturmaktadır. Bu bileşenler büyüme ve üreme ile göç dahil hareket için gerekli olan metabolik enerjinin kaynağı olması açısından önemlidirler. Ayrıca uzun zincirli yüksek doymamış omega-3 yağ asitleri üstlendikleri kritik fizyolojik rolleri gereği insan ve hayvan beslenmesinde özellikle önemli rollere sahiptir. Balık lipitleri ve yağ asitlerine olan uzun süreli ilgi onların bol ve eşsiz kaynaklar olmasından ileri gelmektedir. Bununla birlikte son yıllarda balık lipitleri üzerindeki çalışmaların ivme kazanmasının önemli nedenlerinden biri de hızla gelişmekte olan akuakültür sektöründe kültür balıklarının besin ihtiyaçlarının belirlenmesine olan ihtiyaçtır. Bu çalışmada balıklarda lipitler, yağ asitleri ve bunların bazı önemli metabolik fonksiyonları hakkında bilgiler derlenmiştir
