Öz
Çiftlik hayvanları ile yapılan birçok çalışma göstermiştir ki, hayvanlar ve yetiştiriciler arasındaki ilişkiler hayvanın verimliliğini ve refahını etkileyebilmektedir. Özellikle hayvan refahının sağlanmasında yetiştiriciler kritik öneme sahiptirler. Hayvan refahı yalnızca insanlar tarafından yaratılan üretim, yetiştirme ve besleme sistemleri ile değil aynı zamanda hayvanların doğal davranışlarını gösterebilecekleri koşulların yaratılması ile de yakından ilgilidir. Bu durum insan ve hayvan arasındaki etkileşimin ana unsurunu oluşturmaktadır. Bu ilişki, insanların hayvanları nasıl algıladığına bağlı olarak hem etkilenmekte hem de etkilemektedir
