Çankırı Karatekin University Journal of Turcology Studies (ÇAKUJTS) aims to present researches on Turcology to the attention of the world of science / academic world and to increase academic collaboration by bringing together scientists from different geographies. Our journal purposes to create an intellectual basis for theoretical and comparative studies about the Turkic world through with help of the researches that will be published. For this purpose, ÇAKUJTS publishes studies for the Turkic world such as; scientific research, review, compilation and opinion post, introduction, interview, news, bibliography, text publication, translation after the referee process.

ÇAKUJTS give places to applied and theoretical studies (social, cultural, economic, and technological, etc.) in the field of Turcology, primarily original and copyrighted studies. The studies that will take place in ÇAKUJTS cover the issues related to Turcology both at local, national and international arena.

Title

It should be written in 12font size and bold letters which are compatible with the content and shouldn’t be more than 12 words. The second heading should be written in bold, italic and the first letters in capitals one line below. In-text titles -including the bibliography- should be 11 font size. One line space should be left before headings.

Author Name

Author’s name should be written under the title, justified to the right, with the first letters capitalized and bold. The information of title, institution, e-mail and ORCID should be given just below the name, justified to the right and in 9 font size.

Example: Prof. Dr., Çankırı Karatekin Üniversitesi, Edebiyat Fakültesi, Türk Dili ve Edebiyatı Bölümü, Çankırı/ Türkiye, aarvas@karatekin.edu.tr, ORCID: 0000-0000-0000-0000.

Abstract

It should be written in font size 10, Times New Roman font character. The text should be justified on both sides. The abstract should be prepared with a minimum of 250 and a maximum of 500 words and should be descriptive and introductory of the research. One line space should be left under the abstract and 5 keywords should be included in here. In Turkish articles, the second abstract should be prepared in English. If the article is prepared in another language, the second abstract should be written in Turkish.

Main Text of the Article

Articles should be typed in font size 11, Times New Roman font character and single line spacing on the Word page. A margin of 4 cm from the top edge of the page and 3 cm from the other edges should be left. Paragraph beginnings should not be indented. The text of the article should be justified on both sides. The space between paragraphs should be 0 nk first and then 6 nk. There should be no spaces between expressions such as poem, item, quote, however, 6 nk spaces should be left before and after the paragraph. The first letters of the subheadings in the text should be capitalized, aligned to the left and in bold. It should be one space left before and after the headings. Highlighted places and book names in the text should be remarked in italics. Author should give numbers and names to photographs, tables and figures in the text. These must not exceed one third of the text. In addition, the photos must have high resolution. Footnotes should be used for explanations in the text. Footnotes should be written in font size 9, Times New Roman font character. The in-text citation method should be used in the articles. Example: (Çobanoğlu, 2015, p. 12). In quotations with two or more authors, the surname of all authors is shown in the first reference. For other references, "etc." expression is used after the surname of the first author.

Quotations should be given in quotation marks. Long and block quotations should be written in 10 points, 1 cm inside from the both sides. Articles should not exceed 10,000 words.



Bibliography

References should be prepared in 10 font size and 1 cm hanging. The sources used in the article should be arranged alphabetically according to the surnames of the authors at the end of the text. Author names should be written without abbreviations. If more than one study used in the article belonging to the same author, the writer should add a letter at the end of to the publication year of these studies: (2015a), (2015b).

Evaluation
Articles submitted to the journal must not have been published anywhere before or it must not be in a publication process at the moment. Articles that meet this requirement are taken to the Editorial Board for preliminary evaluation. As a result of the preliminary evaluation of the Editorial Board, a field editor is appointed for the appropriate articles. Double-blind peer-review process is initiated for the articles that passing the preliminary review by the field editors and are sent to two field experts for review. If two referee reports are “positive”, the article is accepted to the journal. Completed articles are published in order of arrival. If one of the reports is “negative”, the article is sent to the third referee. If the article is not found “appropriate” for publication in both reports, this situation is reported to the author. The authors take into account the evaluations of the Editorial Board and the editors; however, they also have the right to defend their articles. If a situation that prevents publication is detected in the articles, the publication process can be suspended. Articles should be reported checked for plagiarism by the authors before submission. The similarity rate should not exceed 20%. If it is detected that this ratio is exceeded, the manuscripts will not be included in the evaluation process. Studies should be sent to “cakutad@karatekin.edu.tr” via e-mail. Authors should write only the title of the article in the subject part of the e-mail while sending their articles.

The responsibility of the opinions expressed in the studies published in the Çankırı Karatekin University Journal of Turcology Studies belongs to the authors. Submitted articles are not returned whether they are published or not. The authors accept that they have transfer the copyright of their article to Çankırı Karatekin University Journal of Turcology Studies, after their works are accepted for publication. No royalty fees are paid for the articles. Articles can be shared electronically by the authors themselves. All processes of the journal are free of charge. There is no charge before or after the publication process. Articles published in the journal will be presented as open access. Ethical Statement
ÇAKUJTS adopts guidelines and policies published by the Turkish Council of Higher Education and Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) on ethical duties and responsibilities. In the articles which sent to the journal, it should also be sent that “Ethics Statement Report” of the studies for which an “Ethics Committee” report is requested. The responsibility of “Ethics Statement” report belongs to the authors. In translated articles, it’s required “Translation Permission Document” showing that permission has been obtained from author. This document can be obtained from the system or accepted in a format prepared by the authors themselves.

Responsibilities of Editorial Board and Reviewers

The Editorial Board evaluates the articles in terms of the purpose and scope of the journal and decides whether the articles are suitable for the journal or not. Editorial Board also regulates the relationship between the field editor, the reviewer and the author. It has full authority to decide on the articles to be published in the journal and to appoint reviewers. In this sense, the editorial board may request the field editor to determine a referee for the articles sent to the journal. Editorial board, field editors and reviewers evaluate the articles submitted to the journal objectively within the framework of scientific ethics and principles. They can make corrections in the submitted articles and request additions and deletions from the author in accordance with the integrity of the article. If the field editor and the referee do not find them competent enough about the assigned article or do not have the opportunity to evaluate it in a given time, they should immediately report this to the Editorial Board.
