Journal of Hemp and Biotechnology Research is a national/international scientific and peer-reviewed journal published by Yozgat Bozok University Hemp Research Institute. The journal aims to increase publications that will contribute to hemp and hemp-related scientific fields and to disseminate knowledge.

The journal aims to publish national or international research and compilation articles in Turkish and English related to hemp from all fields of science, especially; hemp and plant biotechnology, hemp ecology, hemp botany, hemp morphology, hemp biology, hemp physiology, hemp production, hemp breeding, hemp harvest and post-harvest processes, hemp quality, hemp-based materials, hemp-based energy, hemp-based medicine, cosmetics and health support products, hemp economy, hemp chemistry, use of hemp in the food sector, hemp-based construction and building materials, hemp-based wood composites, textile and cellulose technologies.

The article submitted to the Journal of Hemp and Biotechnology Research should be written in A4 size. Each page and line of the article must be numbered. The submitted manuscript should be consist of three separate files: “Manuscript File”, “Plagiarism Report” and “Copyright Form”. All authors must be registered in the DergiPark system and during the upload of the article to the system, the names of all authors, the addresses of the institutions, e-mail addresses and ORCID ID numbers must be entered completely in the metadata section. If any of the authors are not registered in the DergiPark system, the article is pending and an Editor will not be assigned. In addition, the abstract and references sections should be entered in the metadata section. If any of these sections are missing, the manuscript will be sent back to the corresponding author for completion.
Font and Page Layout
The page layout should be written as in the manuscript template, Times New Roman 11 point, 1.27 cm margins on all sides of the page, 1.15 line spacing.
Abstract, Title, Keyword
1. The abstract should be prepared in Times New Roman, 10 point, justified and single-spaced.
2. The manuscript title should be written above the abstracts, in Times New Roman, 14 point and bold, with the first letters of the first words capitalized and centered.
3. The full names of all authors and institutions should be included under the title. Information about the corresponding author should be written at the end of the first page.
4. The abstract should provide clear information about the research and its results and should not exceed 250 words. There should be no references in the abstract. The title and abstract of the article should not contain mathematical formulas.
5. There should be 3-5 keywords. The first letters of the keywords should be capitalized. Keywords should not contain abbreviations.
Main text
1. Main headings are Times New Roman, 12 points, 1.15 line spacing. The article text should be Times New Roman, 11 points, 1.15 line spacing. The first letter of each word in the subheadings should be capitalized.
2. Authors should use the template to prepare a manuscript to be submitted to the Journal of Hemp and Biotechnology Research. The manuscript should be written in Microsoft Word. There should be 1 line space between paragraphs.
3. The main text should consist of the following; Title, Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results and Discussion, Conclusion, and References.
4. Extensive citations and discussions from published literature should be avoided. The manuscript should not exceed 30 pages and should include 40 references.

Section Headings
Research articles should be divided into the sections listed below. Main sections should be numbered consecutively (1. Introduction, 2. Materials and Methods, etc.), subsections should be numbered as 1.1., 1.2., etc. No more than three degrees of heading should be used. The reference list should not be numbered.
Symbols, Units and Abbreviations
1. If symbols such as ×, µ, η, ν are used, they should be added using the Symbol menu in Microsoft Word. Microsoft Word equation should be used to write mathematical equations and formulas. Equations should not be in figure format.
2. Degree symbols (°) should be used from the symbol menu, superscript letter o or number 0 should not be used. Multiplication symbols (×) should be used, the letter x should not be used. There should be a space between numbers and units (e.g. 3 km) and numbers and mathematical symbols (+, –, ×, =, <, >), but there should be no space between numbers and percentage symbols (e.g. 45%). Please use SI units.
Author Names
Author names should be 10 point font, addresses should be 9 point font. There should be no line spacing between author names and addresses.
Footnotes
Footnotes should be avoided as much as possible, but if necessary, they should be written at the bottom of the page, separated by a line.
Tables and Figures
First, simple findings can be given directly in the text without the need for tables or figures. All illustrations (photographs, drawings, graphs, etc.) except tables should be labeled as "Figure". All tables and figures should have a title and/or description and should be numbered (Table 1, Figure 2), in case of a single table or figure, the table or figure should be labeled as "Table" or "Figure". Subtitles should be written in sentences (Artificial Bee Colony Algorithm). The font used in figures should be Times New Roman. If symbols such as ×, μ, η or ν are used, they should be added using Word's Symbol menu. All tables and figures should be numbered consecutively as referred to in the text. When the width is set to 16 cm, the resolution of the images should not be less than 118 pixels/cm. Images should be scanned at 1200 dpi and should be in jpeg or tiff format. Graphs and diagrams should be drawn with a line thickness between 0.5 and 1 point. Graphs and diagrams with a line thickness of less than 0.5 points or more than 1 point are not accepted. Scanned or photocopied charts and diagrams are not accepted. Figures that are graphs, diagrams or drawings should be presented in an editable format, i.e. the graphics team should be able to modify them. Also, all tables should be presented as editable text, not as images, excel or pdf. It should not be pasted as an image file (tiff, jpeg or eps) unless it is a photograph. Tables and figures, including titles, section headings, and footnotes, should not exceed 16 × 20 cm and should not be less than 8 cm wide. Please use the Table feature of Microsoft Word for all tables.
Acknowledgements
Authors should state technical assistance, the source of specific materials, and financial support. The names of funding organizations should be written in full.
Authors' Contributions
The contributions of all authors in the study should be clearly stated.
References
References should be arranged according to APA (6.0) style. All articles cited in the text should be included in the references list. The references list should be arranged alphabetically by taking into account the author surnames. The references in the text should be written according to the author-year basis and year order. Literatures from the same year but different authors should be listed alphabetically (Aras et al., 2021; Türkan and Atalar, 2021; Xu, 2021). If more than one reference published by the same author in the same year is used, the reference should be indicated with letters such as a, b, c after the publication year. It is recommended not to use sources with web addresses as much as possible. Authors should not cite unpublished results and personal interviews as references. The references in text should be written as (Surname, year), (Surname and Surname, year), and (Surname et al., year) for a single, two and three or more authors, respectively. If more than one reference is cited, should be separated with (;) and should be listed from oldest to newest (Surname, 1977; Surname et al., 2013). If the reference is unknown, it should be given as (Anonymous, Year). The references section should be in 10 point font size and a 1 cm hanging indent should be left on the second line and the following lines of each source. Journal names should not be abbreviated. All references should be given in alphabetical order.

Publication Policy
The publication policy, article review and publication process of the Journal of Hemp and Biotechnology Research are given below.
- The Journal of Hemp and Biotechnology Research is a scientific publication of Yozgat Bozok University and is an international, refereed, open access periodical published electronically twice a year.
- Articles are reviewed by at least two referees.
- The refereeing process is carried out in accordance with the double-blind refereeing system.
- Articles are published according to their acceptance dates.
- The journal applies the open access system. Articles are accessed free of charge.
- No fee is charged for articles sent to the journal at any stage.
Ethical Principles
- Ethics committee approval must be added for articles that require ethics committee approval.
- Double-blind peer review is applied in which the reviewer(s) cannot see the author(s) and the author(s) cannot see the reviewers.
- Articles submitted to the journal should not have been published or accepted for publication in another journal or should not be under review for publication.
- The Copyright Form, in which the author(s) confirm their responsibilities regarding the work, must be originally signed by all authors and uploaded to the system during the first submission.
- The legal responsibility for the articles published in the journal belongs entirely to the author(s).
- The results of the research should be given openly and honestly, without any false, fabricated or inappropriate data manipulation.
- Authors should indicate the person or institution (sponsor) supporting the research.
- Authors should refer to all references used in the study and all responsibility in this regard belongs to the author(s).
- It should be noted that all authors have equal responsibility for ethical principles.

- Plagiarism rate checks should be performed by the authors for all articles and this report should be submitted to the journal at the first submission step. The manuscript showing 10% or more similarity as a result of the report will not be sent to referees and will be rejected.
- Journal of Hemp and Biotechnology Research abides by the principles described by the Editorial Ethics Committee (COPE)'s Code of Conduct and Journal Editors' Best Practice Guidelines (https://publicationethics.org/resources/code-conduct) and not only uses transparency principles but also publishes articles that comply with the guidelines set by best scientific practice, COPE.

Editor's Responsibilities
-In Journal of Hemp and Biotechnology Research, the Editor, Associate Editors and Section Editors are expected to comply with the following responsibilities.
-Editors/Editors actively evaluate ways to improve the journal processes by taking the opinions of authors, readers, and editorial board members.
-Editors/Editors protect the information of article applicants within the scope of Personal Data Protection Law and do not share it with third parties.
-Editors/Editors ensure the publication of articles that have scientific originality and contribute scientifically to readers and researchers.
- Editors/Editors select the section editors and readers to be assigned to the submitted articles by taking into account their areas of expertise and take care to ensure that the evaluations to be made are impartial.
-Editors/Editors ensure the protection of intellectual property rights in the articles to be published.
Referee’s Responsibilities
Referees who will evaluate the articles submitted to Journal of Hemp and Biotechnology Research are expected to comply with the following responsibilities.
- Referee/Referees should accept article evaluation according to their own fields of expertise.
- Referee/Referees should adopt the principles of confidentiality and impartiality while evaluating articles.
- Referee/Referees should evaluate the article within the framework of academic and ethical rules, free from personal comments containing insulting and insulting personal comments.
- Referee/Referees should complete the evaluations within the time allocated to them.
Author's Responsibilities
Authors/authors who submit a study to Journal of Hemp and Biotechnology Research are expected to comply with the following responsibilities.
- The work that the author/authors request to be published must be original. All sources used in the study must be cited completely and in accordance with the spelling rules of our journal.
- If the author/authors have data obtained by methods such as experiment, questionnaire, interview, observation in their studies, they are obliged to submit to our journal the documents indicating that the necessary permissions have been obtained from the participants involved in obtaining these data and the Ethics Committee Approval obtained from the relevant institutional authorities.
- Author(s) should take care not to add people who do not make an academically meaningful contribution to the article as co-authors.
- Author(s) should indicate the institutions and sources supporting the study in the article.
- Author(s) are obliged to make the corrections suggested by the referees and editors. If these proposed corrections are refused without reasonable reasons, they are deemed to have accepted that the article will not be published.
