Book Review

Tokat Journal of Ilmiyat is a peer-reviewed journal published by TOGU Faculty of Theology twice a year as 30 June and 30 December. It aims to publish scientific research such as articles, book reviews and symposium reviews on religious studies (social and humanities sciences) and to share these studies with public.

Article acceptance dates: January 15 - March 15 for the issue dated June 30; for the number dated December 30, it is July 15 - September 15.

The target audience of the journal are academics working in theology and other scientists who are interested in these topics. Our journal publishes studies produced in the disciplines in the Theory of Theology. According to this;

in the field of Basic Islamic Sciences; Tafsir, Hadith, Qalam, Islamic Law, History of Islamic Sects, Sufism, Recitation, Arabic Language and Literature; in the field of Religious and Philosophy Sciences; Psychology of Religion, Sociology of Religion, Religious Education, History of Religions, History of Philosophy, Islamic Philosophy and Logic; in the field of Islamic History and Arts, there are works produced in the field of Islamic History, Islamic Art History, Turkish-Islamic Literature and Religious Music.

Article title should be written in both Turkish and English in lowercase. At the beginning of the article should include a summary of at least 150 and a maximum of 250 words and include the 5-word keywords section. The first of the keywords should indicate the branch of science to which the article belongs and the words should be ranked from general to specific. After the referee process is completed, a 500-750 word summary and summary are requested.

While translating some concepts into English with the names of persons and works mentioned in the abstract, it should be written in accordance with ISNAD ATIF SYSTEM 2, TRANSLATION ARTICLE ALPHABET.

Gentium Plus should be used as font, size should be 10 points, and footnotes should be 8 points. Abstracts should be written in 8 font size. Gentium Plus font can be downloaded from the İSNAD ATIF SYSTEM web page.

Page layout should be 5 cm from the top; and bottom and 4.5 cm from the left and right; paragraph indent should be set as 1 cm, paragraph spacing first 0 nk, then 6 nk, line spacing 1.05.

Article volume should not exceed 9,000 words.

In spelling rules and punctuation, the Turkish Language Institution spelling guide should be taken as a basis except for the mandatory situations required by the subject. The Isnad Citation Style should be preferred for citing, and a bibliography should be found at the end of the article.

Articles that do not fulfil these conditions will not be published, even if they have completed the referee process.

The publication of an article in a peer-reviewed journal is an essential building block in the development of a coherent and respected knowledge network. This is a direct reflection of the quality of the work of the authors and the institutions that support them. Peer-reviewed articles support and shape scientific methods. Therefore, it is important for all parties involved in publishing, authors, journal editors, referees and publishing organizations to agree on the standards of expected ethical behavior:

1. Authorship
The bibliography list should be complete.
Plagiarism and fake data should not be included.
The same research should not be attempted to be published in more than one journal, and scientific research and publication ethics should be followed.
Actions against science research and publication ethics are as follows:
a) Plagiarism: Presenting the ideas, methods, data, practices, writings, figures or works of others as their own work, in whole or in part, without attribution in accordance with scientific rules,
b) Fraud: To produce data that is not based on research, to edit or change the presented or published work on the basis of untrue data, to report or publish these, to make an unfinished research appear as if it has been done
c) Distortion: To falsify research records and obtained data, to present methods, devices and materials that were not used in the research as if they were used, not to evaluate the data that are not suitable for the research hypothesis, to manipulate the data and/or results in order to fit the relevant theory or assumptions, falsifying or shaping research results in their own interests,
ç) Republishing: To present more than one work containing the same results of a research as separate works in associate professor examination evaluations and academic promotions,
d) Slicing: Presenting the results of a research as separate works in the evaluations of associate professorship exams and in academic promotions, by dividing the results of a research in a way that violates the integrity of the research, and by making multiple publications without reference to each other
e) Unfair authorship: Including people who do not contribute actively among the authors, not including those who contribute actively among the authors, changing the order of authors without justification and inappropriately, removing the names of those who contributed actively from the work at the time of publication or in subsequent editions, influencing their influence even though they did not contribute actively. to include his name among the authors,
f) Other types of ethical violations: Not clearly stating the supporting persons, institutions or organizations and their contributions in the publications of the research carried out with support, not complying with the ethical rules in research on humans and animals, not respecting the rights of patients in their publications, to share the information contained in the work with others before it is published, to misuse the resources, places, facilities and devices provided or reserved for scientific research, to accuse completely baseless, groundless and deliberate ethical violations (YÖK Scientific Research and Publication Ethics Directive, Article 8).

2. Author's Responsibilities
All authors must contribute significantly to the research.
All data in the article must be declared as true and original.
All authors must ensure retraction and correction of errors.

3. Responsibilities of Arbitrators
Evaluations should be impartial.
Reviewers should not have a conflict of interest with the research, authors and/or research funders.
Referees should cite relevant published but not cited works.
Checked articles should be kept confidential.

4. Editorial Responsibilities
Editors have full responsibility and authority to accept or reject an article.
Editors should not have a conflict of interest regarding the accepted or rejected articles.
Only articles that will contribute to the field should be accepted.
It should support the release or withdrawal of the fix when errors are found.
Referees must remain anonymous and prevent plagiarism/fake data.
The peer-review process is central to the success of scientific publishing. It is part of our commitment to protect and improve the peer review process, and Tokat ilmiyat journal has an obligation to assist the scientific community in all publishing ethics-related matters, especially in cases of dubious, duplicate publications or plagiarism.
When the reader notices an important mistake or mistake in an article published in the tokat ilmiyat journal, or has a complaint about the editorial content (plagiarism, duplicate articles, etc.), they can make a complaint by sending an e-mail to ilmiyat@gop.edu.tr. We welcome complaints as they will provide an opportunity for us to improve, and we aim to respond quickly and constructively.
Articles submitted for publication to Tokat İlmiyat Journal are subject to double-blind peer-review evaluation by at least two referees. In addition, it is confirmed that the articles have not been published before and do not contain plagiarism, through the special program used in plagiarism detection.
