JIAE focuses on the interdisciplinary nature of art as its main perspective, prioritizing studies that approach art within social and global contexts through art–problem-solving–oriented frameworks (such as feminist theory, critical theory, globalization, and ecological art). The journal publishes qualitative and quantitative empirical research, systematic reviews, and methodological articles positioned at the intersection of art education and interdisciplinary studies, especially in areas related to digital technologies/STEAM, curriculum design, and learning outcomes.
Preferred topics include interdisciplinary approaches in the development and teaching of art, in-class and online learning designs, cross-cultural comparisons, creative practice-based research, and ethics/data sharing in art education.
JIAE also publishes special themed issues that discuss universal values in the context of art across different cultures, such as the previously published issue “Mevlana Philosophy and Art.” The journal maintains a focused yet profound scope, aiming to publish high-impact studies that bridge the gap between theory and practice.
