It continues its publishing life with the aim and ideals of encouraging academic studies, increasing scientific research and publication literacy, being an intermediary in sharing qualified and original research results in accordance with scientific norms and scientific ethics with colleagues and related disciplines, and developing and strengthening communication on the scientific platform.
The journal covers original research reports, compilations, advanced analysis compilations (systematic reviews and meta-analyses) and case reports covering disciplines in care interaction related to Health, Sciences, Midwifery, Nursing, Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation, Nutrition Dietetics, Medicine and Multidisciplinary health science fields and specialties. The target audience of the journal is health professionals from different application areas and specialization levels.
GENERAL RULES FOR PREPARATION OF THE ARTICLE
FORMAL CHARACTERISTICS OF THE ARTICLE
• The language of publication is Turkish and English.
• Number of words: In Original Research Articles, Meta-Analysis and Systematic Reviews, it should be limited to 3000-6000 words, and in Reviews and Case Reports, it should be limited to 3000-5000 words.
• The number of references should be limited to a maximum of 50 in all articles and should be up-to-date.
• The page margins should be arranged so that they are 2.5 cm from the right, left, top and bottom.
• Title and paragraph entries should be formatted to be left aligned, and the entire article should be aligned to both sides.
• The main text should be written in 12 points, the abstract, references, tables and figures in 10 points, double-spaced and in Times New Roman font.
• Main headings; all letters should be capitalized and bold. Subheadings under main headings should be left aligned, bold and with the first letter capitalized, and other headings under subheadings should be written in a tab, bold and with the first letter capitalized and the other letters lowercase.
• Title page and main text should be presented as two separate Microsoft Word files. The main text should start with the title, abstract, abstract and keywords, and should be presented as text, bibliography, tables, figures and, if any, appendices.
• All pages should be numbered starting from the title page. The page number should be given in the lower right corner of the page.
• Tables should be numbered according to the order they are used in the text. A period and a one-character space should be left after the table number, and the name of the word should be written above the table with the first letter capitalized.
• The total number of tables, figures and graphics in all articles should be a maximum of five.
When writing figure and graphic titles, the first letter should be capitalized and the other letters should be lowercase, and they should be placed under the figures and graphics.
• Figures should be in digital format, 300 DPI resolution and saved as .jpeg. Tables, figures and graphics should be placed on a separate page and after the sources. Each table, figure and graph should be cited in the text.
• If previously published figures, pictures, tables and graphics are used, the source should be indicated.
• No space should be left before commas and periods.
• No space should be left before and after sentences or words indicated with signs such as ( ) and “ ”.
• Dots should be used when writing decimal numbers.
• No space should be left between the % and the number in figures expressed as percentages (%).
• Various statistical data should be shown with their symbols. Variance analysis values (F), statistical values (n, %) etc.
Abbreviations should not be used in the Title and Abstract, their explanations should be given where they are first used in the text and the abbreviation should be written in parentheses. The number of abbreviations should be as few as possible.
• Articles should be saved as “.doc” and sent as a Word document. They should not be sent in “PDF” format.
ARTICLE SECTIONS:
Title Page
The full title of the text in Turkish and English should be written with only the first letters capitalized, bold and center-aligned, and the authors' names should be written in the same format on the line below. The authors' titles, institution names and addresses, contact information (phone, fax and e-mail addresses and ORCID information), all authors' contributions to the article and information about conflicts of interest, if any, should be written on the line below, aligned to the left. Information about the submitted article (such as presentation at a scientific meeting, receipt of funding or production from a thesis study) should be included below the author information.
Abstract
- In all publication types, the first page consists of an abstract, an abstract and keywords of maximum 250-300 words.
- In research articles, the abstract should consist of the subheadings "Objective, Methods, Results, Conclusion and Recommendations, Keywords"; the abstract should consist of the subheadings "Objective, Methods, Results, Conclusion and Recommendations and KeyWords". - The abstract and abstract sections of review articles should fully reflect the content, including introduction, purpose, development and conclusion.
- The abstract and abstract sections of the case report should briefly define the case and include processes related to nursing care.
- A minimum of three and a maximum of five keywords should be given in Turkish and English. The first keyword should start with a capital letter, the first letter of other words should be written in lower case, there should be a semicolon (;) between words and a period should be placed at the end of the last word. Turkish keywords should be given in accordance with the “Turkish Scientific Terms” (http://www.bilimterimleri.com). English keywords should be in accordance with the “Index Medicus: Medical Subject Heading (MeSH)” standards (www.nlm.nih.gov/mesh/MBrowser.html).
Main Text
Original Research Article
Original research articles are studies that present original and important scientific results on topics suitable for the scope of the journal, have completed the scientific research process and are reported. Original Research articles consist of the following sections:
*Introduction: In this section, the importance of the subject and the scientific ideas it is based on should be expressed clearly and understandably; the research problem presented should be explained in line with current studies; the knowledge gap regarding the problem should be stated in detail. Then, the purpose of the research, hypothesis(es) or research question(s) should be included.
*Method: This section should include the type of research, place where it was conducted, universe and sample, data collection technique and tools, evaluation of the data and ethical aspects.
*Findings: The findings should be presented systematically, supported by statistical data, in a way that will test the research hypotheses or answer the questions. The information provided in the figures and tables should not be repeated unless necessary. Only the analysis results should be included in this section.
*Discussion: The findings should be evaluated and presented systematically in this section. The data obtained should explain with justifications which of the research questions or hypotheses were confirmed or not confirmed. The limitations and deficiencies of the study should be mentioned.
*Conclusion: This section should briefly emphasize the importance of the subject; without repetition, the new information or contribution of the results obtained from the findings to the field should be summarized and suggestions for future studies should be presented.
*References: All sources used should be prepared according to the rules of the American Psychological Association (APA) 6 (http://www.tk.org.tr/APA/apa_2.pdf) and should be given in alphabetical order on a separate page at the end of the text.
*Tables: Tables should be double-spaced and vertical lines should not be used to separate columns. All abbreviations for p value (*, **) and other symbols should be defined in footnotes. Each table should be placed on a separate page after the references.
Meta-Analysis and Systematic Review
Meta-analysis and systematic review articles should be prepared according to the PRISMA Statement (PRISMA Statement: Checklist of items to include when reporting a systematic review or meta-analysis) (www.prisma-statement.org) checklist and should consist of Introduction, Method, Findings, Discussion, Conclusion and References sections.
Review
Review articles, which are preferred to be written by experts with experience and studies in the field, are studies that present discussions and author opinions on current and relevant topics in line with national and international current sources. Their sections are listed as Introduction, Subject Headings and References.
Case report
They are studies that include cases that provide scientific contributions to the field and include important clinical experiences. Case report articles consist of Introduction, Case Report, Discussion, References and, if necessary, tables. Written informed consent must be obtained and must be stated in the main text.
Acknowledgements
Acknowledgements can be made to individuals or institutions that contributed to the preparation of the article or the research.
References
Reference Style and Format
Authors must write the citations in the text and in the bibliography in accordance with APA 6 rules (http://www.tk.org.tr/APA/apa_2.pdf). The author(s) are responsible for the accuracy of the sources.
All sources in the bibliography must be stated in the text. The author name and date information in the text must be exactly the same as the author name and date information in the bibliography.
All sources used must be given in a separate section at the end of the text, alphabetically according to the author's surnames, without being numbered. Alphabetical ordering is not only done by the first letter of the surname, sources with the same first letter must also be alphabetical according to the letter. Publications by the same author with a single author are listed from past to present according to years.

General Principles
In articles submitted for publication in KSÜSBD, the entire evaluation process is carried out in a double-blind manner, with the identities of the referees and authors kept confidential. After the process is completed, the responsible author is notified whether the article is accepted or not.
Evaluation Process
The evaluation of articles begins with the application process to the article submission system via the internet. The author team uploads a Title Page file containing the title of the study, information about the researchers and previous academic background information related to the study, a Main Text file containing Turkish and English titles and abstracts, where author and institution information is kept confidential, an Ethics Committee Approval Form for original research and a Copyright Author Approval Form to the system. The application process is completed when the Final Checklist, in which the author team confirms that the application conditions have been properly met, is uploaded to the system.
Author Responsibility
The statements and opinions expressed in KSÜSBD are the responsibility of the author(s). The responsibility for the scientific language of the text to be published and the ethical requirements of the research conducted belongs to the authors. The author team should take into account standard application guidelines in accordance with research methods and present the text in a flow appropriate to this (such as CONSORT for randomized controlled trials, PRISMA for systematic reviews and meta-analysis studies). The edited main text should meet all the conditions required during the initial application and, within the framework of the journal's writing rules, the information in the required sections, titles and sources for the article should be presented without mentioning the names of the authors and institutions in a way that does not violate the anonymity principle of the text.
With the application to the journal publication process, the author(s) approve that the changes deemed necessary by the KSÜSBFD Editorial Board will be made or that changes that will not disrupt the content can be made with the author's permission. The author(s) whose texts are requested to be edited as a result of the evaluation are responsible for uploading a single Microsoft Word document to the system within two weeks, including the edits of all referees, highlighted in red and underlined, and with the necessary edits. When uploading the edited text to the system as a result of the referee evaluations, a note called "Information to Editors and Referees", which includes detailed information about the edits, should also be uploaded to the system.
Editor and Reviewer Responsibility
After the applications are completed, the journal's associate editors evaluate the text's suitability for referee evaluation in terms of plagiarism and technical suitability in the preliminary control step. Texts whose originality is reported through the plagiarism program and meet the application requirements are directed to the field editors and the scientific evaluation process is initiated.
The field editor makes the first evaluation regarding the scientific evaluation and submits it to the referee evaluations and notifies the author of the evaluation results via the online application system within twelve weeks following the application. Delays caused by the author in fulfilling the editing request are considered a reason for rejection of the article. Each article text is reviewed by three independent referees who are experts in their fields and the texts deemed suitable for publication are directed to the editor-in-chief after the approval of the field editor is obtained. The final decision on the publication of the article belongs to the Editor-in-Chief of KSÜSBFD.
Publication Ethics and Scientific Responsibility
KSÜSBD is committed to the highest standards in publication ethics and adopts the principles developed by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE); recommends following the guidelines below on the subject (http://www.icmje.org/recommendations,https://publicationethics.org/resources/guidelines).
Articles submitted for publication should not be original, unpublished and sent to a different journal for evaluation at the same time. All articles that do not comply with ethical standards will be removed from publication. The text scanned with the plagiarism program should not have a similarity rate of more than 20%, excluding references.
KSÜSBD is a journal that has adopted the principle of complying with the ethical standards of the Committee on Human Experimentation, revised in 2013, of the 1975 Helsinki Declaration. In this direction, local or national ethics committee approval letters of original research articles submitted for publication in KSÜSBD must be uploaded to the system.
Conflict of Interest If there is a direct or indirect commercial connection or financial support institution in the article, the authors must declare on the title page that they have no commercial relationship with the commercial product, drug or company used and if so, what kind of relationship they have (consultant, other agreements). In addition, if the author has a conflict of interest, this situation must be disclosed. Types of conflict of interest that are expected to be disclosed include academic commitments, personal relationships, political, financial or institutional connections.
