KoSCo'26 - Konya Studies Congress
Dear Researchers,
We are pleased to announce the inaugural Konya Studies Congress (KoSCo’26), which will be held online from December 25 to 27, 2026, under the auspices of the Journal of Konya Research. We cordially invite you to submit presentations that examine the city of Konya from a multidimensional perspective.
The Konya Studies Congress is an interdisciplinary scientific event aimed at re-evaluating Konya’s historical, cultural, and social dynamics. The primary motivation behind organizing this congress is that research on Konya has reached a level of maturity—both quantitatively and qualitatively—that necessitates a platform for discussion meeting international standards. Understanding the city’s accumulated heritage passed down from the past to the present, and developing scientific projections for the future, is possible only through the production of critical knowledge and a multidimensional perspective.
Konya is one of Anatolia’s most significant centers of civilization in terms of history, law, religion, urban planning, architecture, agriculture, economics, culture, Sufism, literature, and social structure. Despite this, an interdisciplinary and continuous academic platform dedicated to Konya Studies has not yet been institutionalized. Addressing this need, the Konya Studies Congress (KoSCo) will be organized as an annual, traditional academic gathering—starting in 2026—under the leadership of the Journal of Konya Research. The event meets the criteria set by the Inter-University Council (ÜAK) regarding associate professorship and academic appointments. Participation is free of charge.
