Abstract
The global community has intensified its effort to fight against common problems
within and outside of the United Nations (UN). The UN policy-makers, in cooperation
with all relevant stakeholders, have been heavily and especially involved in
the advancement of the rule of law, regarded as one of key ingredients for unresolving
or ongoing global issues. This article first gives a historical overview of main
activities alongside with their outputs dedicated to the development of Millennium
Development Goals (MDGs). It then identifies how the MDGs has been transformed
into Post-2015 Development Agenda particularly through the work of the New
York-based UN bodies. In doing so, this study aims at discussing the impact of the
dimension of sustainable development on the progress of the rule of law within the
framework of the UN.

Küresel toplum, müşterek sorunlarla mücadelesinde, Birleşmiş Milletler (BM)
içinde ve dışında gayretini arttırmıştır. BM politika yapımcıları, ilgili tüm aktörlerle
birlikte, hâlihazırda çözüm bulunamamış problemlerin giderilmesinde ana
bileşen olarak değer atfettiği hukukun üstünlüğünün geliştirilmesi konusu ile yoğun
şekilde ve özellikle ilgilenmektedir. Bu makale, ilk olarak, BM Bin Yıl Kalkınma
Hedefleri’nin gelişimini hedefleyen faaliyetleri ve sonuçları hakkında tarihsel bir
bilgi sunacaktır. Sonrasında, Kalkınma Hedefleri’nin, New York merkezli BM
organları eliyle nasıl 2015 Sonrası Kalkınma Gündemi’ne dönüştürüldüğü ortaya
konacaktır. Çalışma, bu sayede, sürdürülebilir kalkınma sürecinin, BM çatısı
altında, hukukun üstünlüğünün gelişimine olan etkisini tartışmayı amaçlamaktadır
