BIBLIOMETRIC ANALYSIS OF STUDIES ON THE CONCEPT OF TECHNOSTRESS

Abstract

This study aims to offer a detailed definition of the concept of technostress and map internationally conducted studies. By analyzing academic articles indexed in the Web of Science (WoS) database, the research seeks to identify current trends in technostress within information management and libraries. Utilizing quantitative data, the study provides a systematic summary of the existing literature on the concept of technostress through bibliometric analysis. Researchers are presented with an evaluation of study trends related to the concept in the context of information management.To achieve this, searches for the concept of "technostress" were conducted in the "Information Science Library Science" category of WoS, specifically limited to libraries. A total of 181 academic articles underwent a rigorous analysis process. The study follows a descriptive model, employing the bibliometrics method for data analysis. Various features such as citations, geographical distribution, keywords, authors, and publications were evaluated in the analysis. Bibliometric analyses and visualizations were conducted using the analytical tool VOSviewer (Version 1.6.20).This comprehensive assessment enables an understanding of the current state of technostress in the international literature and provides insights into how technostress research is approached from a knowledge management perspective. Ultimately, the study establishes a framework for identifying the reflections of technostress in the field of information science, study trends, and research gaps related to the concept.

TEKNOSTRES KAVRAMI ÜZERİNE YAPILAN ÇALIŞMALARIN BİBLİYOMETRİK ANALİZİ

Abstract

Bu çalışmada, teknostres kavramının ayrıntılı bir tanımı yapılarak, uluslararası alanda gerçekleştirilen çalışmaların haritalandırılması amaçlanmıştır. Çalışma, Web of Science (WoS) veri tabanında dizinlenen akademik makalelerin incelenerek, teknostres konusunda ele alınan eserlerdeki mevcut eğilimleri bilgi merkezleri / kütüphaneler / arşivler özelinde belirlemeyi hedeflemektedir. Çalışmada, nicel veriler temel alınarak teknostres kavramıyla ilgili mevcut literatürün bibliyometrik analiz yöntemiyle analizi yapılarak sistemli bir özeti araştırmacılara sunulmuş ve kavramla ilgili çalışma eğilimleri bilgi yönetimi açısından değerlendirilmiştir. Bu bağlamda, "technostress" kavramına yönelik yapılan aramalar, kütüphaneler üzerinde sınırlı olacak şekilde, WoS'un "Information Science Library Science" kategorisinde gerçekleştirilmiştir. Bu kapsamda toplam 181 akademik makale titiz bir analiz sürecine tabi tutulmuştur. Çalışma, betimsel bir model üzerine kurulmuş olup, veri analizi için bibliyometri yöntemi benimsenmiştir. Yapılan analizlerde atıflar, coğrafi dağılım, anahtar kelimeler, yazarlar ve yayınlar gibi çeşitli özellikler ele alınarak değerlendirme yapılmıştır. Bibliyometrik analizler ve görselleştirmeler ise VOSviewer (Version 1.6.20) analitik aracı kullanılarak gerçekleştirilmiştir. Bu değerlendirme, uluslararası literatürde teknostres alanındaki mevcut durumu anlamamıza ve teknostres araştırmalarının bilgi yönetimi perspektifinden nasıl ele alındığını görmemize olanak sağlayacaktır. Bu çalışmanın katkısı ile, teknostresin bilgi bilimi alanındaki yansımalarını, kavramla ilgili çalışma eğilimlerini ve araştırma boşluklarını belirlemeye yönelik bir çerçeve sunulacaktır.
