Year 2024, Volume: 3 Issue: 2, 60 - 66, 30.08.2024
https://doi.org/10.62268/add.1514043

Abstract

Aim: This study was to determine the theoretical and practical knowledge of dental students about endocrowns and to evaluate the results of a questionnaire study to refresh their knowledge about this technique.
Method(s): The questionnaire consists of three sections where demographic, practical and theoretical information is evaluated. The data collected result were analyzed using the IBM SPSS 25.00 package program and the Chi-square/Fisher exact test was used to determine intergroup variables. P significance level will be accepted as 0.05.
Results: 159 students accepted to participate in the study and answered the questionnaire. Of the students participating in the study, 89.3% were over the age of 25, 10.7% were between the ages of 20-25, 58.5% were female and 41.5% were male. When asked about the preferred restoration type for endodontically treated teeth with excessive loss of material, 52.8% of the students chose post-cor restoration. There was no significant difference between the students' fourth or fifth grade education and their responses to the fracture factors that can be observed in teeth. Only 3.1% of the students answered yes to the question of whether they practiced endocrown administration in the clinic, while 96.9% answered no.
Conclusion: When the survey we conducted with the students was evaluated, it allowed us to conclude that their theoretical knowledge was stronger than their practical knowledge. However, we see that there are major deficiencies especially in the practical application part.

Diş Hekimliği Öğrencilerinin Endodontik Tedavi Görmüş Dişlerde Uygulanan Endokron Restorasyonu Hakkındaki Teorik ve Pratik Bilgilerinin Değerlendirilmesi

Year 2024, Volume: 3 Issue: 2, 60 - 66, 30.08.2024
https://doi.org/10.62268/add.1514043

Abstract

Amaç: Bu çalışmanın amacı diş hekimliği fakültelerinde okuyan öğrencilerin endokronlar hakkındaki teorik ve pratik bilgi düzeyini tespit etmek, öğrencilerin bu modern restoratif teknik hakkındaki bilgilerini tazelemek amacıyla bir anket çalışması uygulayarak sonuçlarını değerlendirmektir.
Yöntemler: Anket demografik, pratik ve teorik bilgilerin değerlendirildiği 3 bölümden oluşmaktadır. Anket soruları çoktan seçmeli olacak şekilde hazırlanmış kapalı uçlu sorulardan oluşmaktadır. Anket sonucu toplanan veriler IBM SPSS 25.00 paket programı kullanılarak analiz edilmiş ve gruplar arası değişkenleri belirlemek için Kikare/Fisher exact testi kullanılmıştır. P anlamlılık düzeyi 0,05 olarak kabul edilecektir.
Bulgular: 159 öğrenci çalışmaya katılmayı kabul ederek anketi cevaplandırmıştır. Çalışmaya katılan öğrencilerin %89,3’ü 25 yaşın üstünde, %10,7’si ise 20-25 yaş aralığında ve %58,5’i kadın, %41,5’i erkek öğrencilerden oluşmaktadır. Aşırı madde kaybına sahip endodontik tedavi görmüş dişlerde tercih edilen restorasyon tipi sorulduğunda öğrencilerin %52,8’i post-kor restorasyon seçeneğini işaretlemiştir. Öğrencilerin klinikte endokron uygulaması yaptınız mı sorusuna ise sadece %3,1’i evet yanıtı vermişken, %96,9’u hayır yanıtını vermiştir.
Sonuç: Öğrencilere yaptığımız anket çalışması değerlendirildiğinde teorik bilgilerinin pratik bilgilerinden daha güçlü olduğu sonucuna varmamızı sağladı. Ancak özellikle pratik uygulama kısmında büyük eksiklikler olduğunu görmekteyiz.
