Abstract

Objectives:
This study aimed to compare the effects of conventional needle irrigation (CNI) and Er,Cr:YSGG laser-activated irrigation (LAI) methods used for disinfection of the root canal system on the amount of apical extrusion.
Material and Methods:
In the experiment conducted using 75 single-rooted human mandibular premolar teeth, the teeth were treated with LAI and GII at different power settings (0.25W, 0.50W, 0.75W and 1W) after root canal shaping procedures.
Results:
The findings showed that the amount of fluid exuding from the root apex was highest in the GİI group and lowest in the 0.25W laser group. The difference between the laser groups was not found to be statistically significant.
Conclusion:
It was concluded that LAI provides safer and more effective disinfection by reducing apical overflow, especially at low power settings.

Kök Kanal Dezenfeksiyonunda Er,Cr:YSGG Lazerin Farklı Dozlarının Apikalden Taşan Sıvı Miktarına Etkisi
