Öz

Enfeksiyöz hastalık taşıyıcılarının büyük bir kısmının tanımlanamamasından dolayı standart enfeksiyon kontrol işlemleri tedavi gören her hastada uygulanmaktadır. Enfeksiyon kontrolünün amacı mikroorganizma transferine engel olmaktır. Bunun için kişisel korunma gereçleri, keskin aletlerin uygun şekilde kullanımı, yüzey ve aletlerin enfeksiyöz ajanlardan arındırılması için doğru temizlik ve dezenfeksiyonun yapılması ve alet sterilizasyonu gibi birçok yöntem uygulanabilir. Bu tip standart önlemlerin, hem diş tedavilerinin uygun şartlar altında yapılmasını sağlayan bir gerçekçiliği hem de bütün klinik şartlarında enfeksiyon geçişini engelleyen bir etkisi olmalıdır. Bu makalede, her hastaya yönelik gerçekçi ve güvenli bir yapısı olan evrensel önlemlerden oluşmuş; dişhekimliği çalışanları tarafından kolayca uygulanabileceği ümit edilen güncel kurallar, öneriler ve pratik teknikler sunulmaktadır

Öz

Standard infection control procedures are now implemented while treating each patient, following the inevitable realisation that a large majority of carriers of infectious diseases cannot be identified. The goal of infection control is to eliminate the transfer of microorganisms. This may be accomplished in several ways such as use of personal barrier equipment, proper techniques for handling sharp instruments, correct cleaning and disinfection of surfaces and equipment to remove infectious agents, and sterilisation of instruments. Such standart precautions must be both comprehensive, to prevent infection transmission in all clinical situations, and realistic, to allow convenient provision of dental treatment. This article describes updated regulations, recommendations, and practical techniques, which it is hoped to enable dental health workers to provide realistic and safe standart precautions for every patient
