Self-Adhesive Resin Cements Part I: Bonding To Dental Hard Tissues

Abstract

The long-term clinical outcome of fixed prosthodontic treatment depends, in part, on the use of adhesives that can provide an impervious seal between the restoration and the tooth. In recent years adhesive resin systems gain popularity in luting materials especially for the metal free restorations. Conventional resin cements have established a reputation for acceptable bonding effectiveness, but the main disadvantage is seen as the technique-sensitivity of the application procedures of them. Recent efforts focused on how to simplify the multi-step bonding process and reduced its sensitivity to errors during clinical handling. For simplifying these steps self-adhesive resin cements are commercially available now and they purportedly bond to a multiple substrates such as dental hard tissues and restorative materials. However, there are concerns regarding the adhesive effectiveness to the dental hard tissues of these systems. For this purpose, in this literature review self-adhesive resin cements have been discussed in terms of bonding effectiveness and the morphological varieties of adherent surfaces

Self-Adeziv Rezin Simanlar Bölüm I: Diş Sert Dokularına Bağlanmaları

Abstract

Protetik restorasyonların uzun dönem başarısı, restorasyon - diş arasında iyi bir örtücülük sağlayan doğru bir yapıştırma sisteminin kullanılmasına bağlıdır. Son dönemlerde bu amaçla, özellikle metal desteksiz restorasyonların simantasyonunda kullanılan rezin simanlar yüksek bir popülarite kazanmıştır. Konvansiyonel rezin simanlar yüksek bağlanma etkinliği sağlamasına rağmen teknik hassasiyetinin çok olması bu simanların en büyük dezavantajı olarak görülmektedir. Bu nedenle çalışmalar hassasiyet gerektiren bu basamaklarının azaltılması ve böylelikle klinik uygulamalarda oluşabilecek hataların önlenmesi yönünde yoğunlaşmıştır. Bu uygulama basamaklarının basitleştirilmesi amacıyla self-adeziv rezin simanlar geliştirilmiştir ve geliştirilen bu simanların diş dokusu ve retoratif materyaller gibi birçok yapıya yeterli etkinlikte bağlandıkları iddia edilmektedir. Yine de bu simanların, diş dokularına bağlanma etkinlikleri konusunda çeşitli kaygılar mevcuttur. Bu amaçla yapılan bu literatür derlemesinde, self-adeziv rezin simanların bu dokulara bağlanma etkinlikleri ve tutunma yüzeylerinin morfolojisi değerlendirilmiş ve açıklanmaya çalışılmıştır
