LEONARDO DA VINCI’NİN SON AKŞAM YEMEĞİ TABLOSUNDAKİ FİGÜRLERİN GİYSİ ANALİZİ

Abstract

Amacı ve tekniği itibariyle İsa’nın Son Akşam Yemeği tablosu sanat tarihi açısından son derece önemli bir konuma sahiptir. İsa’nın çarmıha gerilişinden önceki anın tasviri, günümüze kadar birçok ressam tarafından ele alınan bir konudur. Leonardo da Vinci’nin eseri bu çalışmalar arasındaki en ünlü resimlerdendir. Bu çalışma, Milano’daki Santa Maria delle Grazie manastırında yer alan, Leonardo da Vinci’nin Son Akşam Yemeği tablosunun 1999 yılında yapılan restorasyon çalışması referans alınarak hazırlanmıştır. Resimde bulunan 13 figürün giysilerinin biçimsel özellikleri, gözlem ve doküman incelemesi teknikleri ile incelenmiştir. Gözlem tekniği bağlamında giysilerde kullanılan renkler, giysilerin kol, yaka formları ve giysi türleri belirlenmiş, bu doğrultudaki literatür araştırmasından elde edilen dönemin giysilerinin biçimsel özellikleri dikkate alınarak karşılaştırmalı analiz yapılmıştır. Figürlere ait giysilerin tasarım özellikleri, giysi türleri, renk, giysi (kol ve yaka) formlarındaki benzerlik ve farklılıklar açısından ele alınmıştır. Giysilerde kullanılan renklerin tablonun yapıldığı Rönesans dönemini yansıttığı, giysi türleri ve giysi formlarının ise tablonun canlandırıldığı çağın giysileriyle uyumlu olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.

ANALYSIS OF THE CLOTHING OF THE FIGURES IN LEONARDO DA VINCI'S LAST SUPPER PAINTING

Abstract

Due to both its purpose and technique, Leonardo da Vinci’s painting The Last Supper holds an exceptionally significant position within art history. The depiction of the moment just before the crucifixion of Jesus is a subject that has been addressed by numerous painters to the present day. Among these works, Leonardo da Vinci’s stands as one of the most renowned. This study is prepared with reference to the 1999 restoration of Leonardo da Vinci’s The Last Supper, located in the monastery of Santa Maria delle Grazie in Milan. The formal characteristics of the garments of the thirteen figures in the painting were examined using observational and document analysis techniques. Within the framework of observational analysis, the colors used in the garments, as well as the sleeve and neckline forms and garment types, were identified. A comparative analysis was then conducted, taking into account the formal features of period garments obtained from a literature review conducted accordingly. The design characteristics of the figures’ garments were examined in terms of garment types, color, and similarities and differences in garment forms (sleeves and necklines). It was concluded that the colors used in the garments reflect the Renaissance period in which the painting was created, while the garment types and forms are consistent with the clothing of the era depicted in the painting.
