This study examines the relationships between work-family conflict, work engagement, organizational burnout, and self-rated health of healthcare professionals during crisis/pandemic periods. The study emphasizes that work-family conflict experienced by healthcare professionals during crisis/pandemic periods does not only have a direct effect on self-rated health, but also creates indirect effects through work engagement and organizational burnout. The study shows that although work-family conflict does not have a significant effect directly on self-rated health, this conflict creates significant effects through work engagement and organizational burnout. Work engagement and organizational burnout create a chain mediation effect in the relationship between work-family conflict and self-rated health. This shows how employees' work engagement and burnout levels shape the effects of work-family conflict on health. Another issue emphasized is the need to develop supportive policies that focus not only on work-related but also family-related factors during unforeseen crisis periods. The study highlights the need to consider strategies to protect the well-being of healthcare professionals within a broader framework and the importance of taking measures at both individual and organizational levels.
