The Journal of Tree and Forest is a publication published by Bursa Technical University, Faculty of Forestry, and aims to share information on forestry and related issues at national and international level. In this context, the journal gives priority to issues that are original, on the agenda and whose results can be implemented in a short time.

It covers this sciences and sub-sciences and other subjects directly or indirectly related to these sciences. In this context, issues that have not been published in any other publication in part or in full text before, and the issues of interest and need of the industry and implementation units will be accepted for publication.

The journal accepts Turkish text, English abstract or English text, Turkish abstract articles.

Tree and Forest Journal Writing Rules

1. Types of Articles Accepted for Publication

Articles in the form of "Original Research Article", "Review Article" "Research Note" or "Letter to the Editor" are accepted for publication in the Journal of Tree and Forest.

Original articles; It should be a scientific publication designed with scientific methods and methods and prepared based on the findings obtained as a result of measurement and observation.

Review articles; It should be in the form of a synthesis, interpretation and situation assessment of studies on a particular subject and articles published in scientific journals.

Research note; Preliminary studies and information regarding a research will be evaluated as a research note.

Letter to the editor; It should be in the form of a scientific text on a specific subject and for information purposes, not exceeding one page in total.

2. Page Layout

Manuscripts should be prepared on A4 (210 x 297 mm) size paper in Word, using Times New Roman font, 2.5 cm from the top and bottom margins, 1.5 cm from the left and right margins, single line spacing, justified.

Except for the Abstract, and/or Özet the entire text should be in two columns, with a 0.6 cm space between the columns and justified. Main and sub headings, including the Abstract and Abstract headings, should begin left justified and without paragraph indent.

3. Title

The first letter of the first word of the article title should be capitalized, and the other words (except for special names) should be written in bold letters, with 1 line space left on the top of the page, left justified, Times New Roman Tour 14 pt. The title of the article should not exceed 15 words.

Author names should not be included in the publication during the article submission. After the article is accepted for publication, author names should be written under the title of the article, leaving 1 line (9 pt) space, left justified, with capital letters, 9 pt bold. Full addresses should be specified by leaving 1 space (9 pt.) Under the author's names. Authors' addresses; It should be indicated in superscript form, using the same number at the end of each author's surname and beginning of their address. Corresponding author's name should be indicated with an asterisk (*) sign above the name of the article and the responsible author's e-mail address should be written, leaving 1 space after the addresses.

4. Abstract

It should be written after the title of "Abstract" (9 font size), not exceeding 250 words and with a single column justified and should not be headed. Before the abstract section, the title of the article in English (14 points) should be written in bold (bold).


5. Keywords

As a single column, there should be a maximum of 5 keywords after leaving 1 line space after the Abstract / Abstract and writing "Keywords:" The initial letter of the first keyword should be written in capital letters, and other words (except for proper names) should be written in lowercase letters, in 9 points. Each keyword should consist of a maximum of two words.

6.Text Sections

Original research articles “1. Introduction ”,“ 2. Materials and Methods ”,“ 3. Findings ”,“ 4. It should be written in order of "Discussion and Conclusion" and "Resources" sections. For review articles “2. Material and Method ”,“ 3. Findings ”,“ 4. Discussion ”sections are optional. Subheadings are 2.1., 2.2., 2.2.1. It should be listed as numbered.

Main and sub titles should be written in bold 10 pt. In main titles, the first letter of each word should be capital, and only the first letter of the first word in subtitles should be capital. All headings should have 12 pt space before and 6 nk before paragraphs, and no paragraph indentation.

The article should be written in Times New Roman Tur, 10-point font, and the entire text (including references) with page numbers starting from the first page should not exceed 12 pages in total. Scientific names of plants, fungi and animals in the text and the names of the journals in the "Resources" section should be written in italics.

7. Tables and Figures

All charts and figures (graphics, photographs, maps, etc.) should be placed centered on the page, numbered consecutively in the text according to their citation order, and placed right after the cited paragraph. All tables and figures used in the article should be cited in the text as (Figure 1), (Table 1). Tables and figures should be as simple and understandable as possible.

The titles of the Tables and Tables above and below the figures should be placed centered on the page. Tables and graphics contents and titles should be 9 points. If available, the sub-explanation in the tables should be 8 pt. Before the table titles and after the figure titles, a 6 point space should be left.

Figures should be prepared at a resolution of 300 dpi. Characters used in figures should also be in Times New Roman font. Page orientation should not be changed in order to fit the charts on the page. Vertical lines of the charts should not be drawn.

8. Rferences

References should be given under the heading "References", in 9 font size and alphabetically. In all publications mentioned as a reference, the names of the authors, journal title / book title, chapter title / article title, publication year, volume number / book chapter and pagination must be present. DOI number should be given if the resource is available.

8.1 Internet (Web) resources

The full URL and last access date must be given in the sources quoted on the web. If there is other information in the relevant web resource, DOI, author names, dates, main source publication, etc. reference should also be given.

8.2 Representation of references in the text

References should be made in brackets in the text for a single source (Unformed, 1982), historically listed for more than one source (Boydak, 1990; Tolay, 1993; Grossnickle, 2005), and for joint publications (Taylor & White, 1977). References with more than two authors should be given briefly in the text as (Hızal et al., 2006). If there are works of the same author made on the same date, these works should be indicated at the end of the years with the letters a, b, c, .. When the same author has individual and joint publications, individual publications should be listed first, and joint publications should be given after individual publications.

In articles, only the first letter of the title should be capitalized, the others should be in lowercase. In book titles, each word must start with a capital letter.

Ethical Principles and Publication Policy

All authors who will submit a publication to Ağaç ve Orman Magazine should read the ethical principles and publication policy given below before submitting the article and declare that they accept all responsibility.


Plagiarism

The program named iThenticate is used to create similarity reports of the articles sent to our journal. The limit of similarity is accepted as 20%. When the references part of the article are excluded, the similarity rate should not exceed 20%. If the similarity rate exceeds 20%, the article is returned to the author.


Publication Frequency

Tree and Forest journal publish two issues per year.


Types of Articles Accepted for Publication

Pricing

No fee is charged for the article submission stage to our journal and for the publication of the articles whose evaluation process has been completed.


Ethical Rules for Authors

The author (s) declare the following points about their articles;

  • To comply with all ethical rules in the preparation of the article,
  • Presenting the article with the consent and knowledge of the authors,
  • To declare that the article is not in evaluation, acceptance or publication in any other journal,
  • Not violating the rights of other people,
  • To declare that there are no acts such as plagiarism, forgery, distortion, slicing, reproduction, unfair authorship in the article and that the study is in accordance with ethical principles,
  • Preparing the article based on an original research,
  • To clearly state the situations where there is a conflict of interest, if any,
  • Obtaining approval for studies requiring ethics committee approval and sending as an additional file during article submission,
  • Not making any change in the name of the author in the articles that are in the evaluation, acceptance or publication stage.

Ethical Rules for Editors

Editors declare the following matters;

  • Evaluating the authors who submit the article in an impartial and ethical way without making any discrimination based on race, religion, gender, age, etc.
  • Communicating with the author during the article evaluation, acceptance / rejection processes, if it resulted with rejection, informing the responsible author of the reasons,
  • To check the compliance of articles that have passed the pre-evaluation stage to ethical rules,
  • Examining the evaluations made by the referees during the evaluation phase and dismissing the evaluations that are not impartial, that do not comply with ethical principles, and which are inconsistent,
  • To comply with ethical principles and publishing policies.

Ethical Rules for Referees

The referees declare the following;

  • As a referee, the article sent to him, race, religion, gender, age etc. to evaluate it objectively and in accordance with ethical rules without any discrimination,
  • To check the compliance of the article evaluated with the ethical rules, to inform the editor in case a violation of the ethical rules is detected,
  • Paying attention to the confidentiality of the information contained in the articles submitted for evaluation and not sharing them with third parties,
  • To evaluate the article sent to him for refereeing within the given time,
  • To inform the editor in the detection of any conflict of interest in the article he evaluates,
  • To evaluate only in his / her field of expertise, to return the article by informing the editor if the article in question is outside his / her field of expertise,
  • Filling in the "Referee Evaluation Form" during the evaluation phase. To comply with the double-blind refereeing rules while filling out the form,
  • Not using racist rhetoric, hostile discourse, insulting, contemptuous expressions while making the evaluation and filling out the "Referee Evaluation Form". To make all evaluations within the framework of respect,
