Review

The journal aims to deliver the results of academic research conducted in all fields of agriculture to scientists, researchers, and farmers engaged in agriculture on an international platform online. It has adopted the principle of conveying current studies carried out by scientists and researchers, who aim to contribute to the development and progress of global agriculture, especially Turkish agriculture, to the relevant parties.

The journal is an international academic publication of the Association of Anatolian Agricultural Engineers. It accepts articles in Turkish and English, and publishes research articles in all areas of agriculture, as well as current and important reviews, after peer review. The journal delivers scientific research and review articles to researchers and growers online, in two issues per year.

AgriTR Science Journal Writing Rules and Author Guidelines In order to ensure the scientific publishing ethics and standard of the articles submitted to the AgriTR Science Journal, the following rules must be strictly adhered to.

To download the "Full-Text Template" that includes author names, please click here.

To download the "Reviewer Template" that does not include author names, please click here.

To download the Copyright Agreement, please click here.

Authors must perform a plagiarism check on their articles using their personal intihal.net software before submitting them to the journal. In this screening, conducted by excluding the References section, the similarity rate must be below 25%, and the intihal.net report must be uploaded to the system during article registration.

1. Mandatory Core File Submission
During article submission, authors are required to upload the following two separate templates to the system for the evaluation process to begin. The article evaluation process will not be initiated if files are missing.

Full-Text Template (With Author Information): The file containing the entire content of the article, but with the names, institutions, and contact information of the authors clearly stated.

Reviewer Template (Excluding Author Information): The version of the article, starting from the title page, with all author identities (name, surname, institution, email, ORCID, etc.) completely removed, to be used during the peer review process. This file is critical for ensuring the confidentiality of identities.

2. Language and Abstract Requirements
Abstract requirements vary depending on the language in which the article is written:

A. For Articles in Turkish
The article must begin with the Turkish Title, Turkish Öz (Abstract), and Turkish Anahtar Kelimeler (Keywords).

In addition to these, the English Title, English Abstract, and English Keywords must also be compulsorily included immediately thereafter.

B. For Articles in English
The article must begin with the English Title, English Abstract, and English Keywords.

Turkish Title, Öz (Abstract), and Anahtar Kelimeler (Keywords) are not mandatory.

3. Mandatory Ethics Committee Approval and Statement
If the scientific study (research involving human and/or animal subjects, surveys, clinical trials, etc.) requires Ethics Committee Approval, a statement confirming this approval is mandatory.

This statement must be clearly indicated in the last paragraph of the Introduction section or in the Material and Methods section (for example: "Ethics Committee Approval for this study was obtained from [Institution Name] dated [Date] with the number [Number]").

The article process will not be initiated if this statement is missing for studies requiring ethics committee approval.

4. Acknowledgement and Support Statement
Authors must state the source, support, or presentation status used while creating the article in the main text of the article, under a separate heading immediately preceding the References section (for example: "Acknowledgements and Notes" or "Article Note").

The following situations must be specified in this context:

Production from a Thesis: If the article is produced from a master's or doctoral thesis (for example: "This article has been produced from the [Master's/Doctoral] thesis completed by [Author Name] at [University Name] in [Year].").

Project Support: If the article has received support from projects such as BAP, TÜBİTAK, international funds, etc. (for example: "This study was supported by [Project Executing Institution] with the project number [Project Number].").

Previous Presentation: If the abstract of the article was previously published or presented at a symposium, congress, workshop, or scientific meeting (for example: "The abstract of this article was presented at the [Name of Congress] on [Date].").

1. Preliminary Review and Editor Evaluation
Submitted works are first reviewed by the editors for suitability to the journal's aims and scope, quality of language/expression, scientific adequacy, and originality.

Submissions rejected at this stage (out of scope, serious scientific error, lack of original value, etc.) are notified to the authors within a maximum of two weeks.

Suitable works are directed to the relevant Field Editor (Section Editor) for pre-evaluation.

2. Field Editor (Section Editor) Evaluation
Field editors examine the Introduction, Material and Methods, Findings, Conclusion, and Discussion sections of the work in detail regarding journal policies, scope, and originality.

Submissions deemed unsuitable are returned to the authors with the field editor's evaluation report within a maximum of four weeks.

3. Reviewer Process
The Field Editor suggests reviewers from the journal's reviewer pool or with new proposals, based on the content of the work and the reviewers' expertise, from at least two different institutions. The author(s) and reviewer(s) must not be from the same institution.

Reviewers are obligated to guarantee that they will not share any process or document related to the works they evaluate with third parties.

4. Reviewer and Revision Processes
The reviewer evaluation period is 15 days.

It is mandatory for authors to complete the revision suggestions received from the reviewers or editors within 1 month.

Reviewers may decide on suitability after examining the revisions or may request additional revisions multiple times if necessary.

5. Final Editorial Board Decision
Reviewer opinions are examined by the field editor within a maximum of 2 weeks, and the field editor conveys their final decision to the editors.

The editors prepare the final editorial board decision based on the opinions of the field editor and reviewers, and this decision is communicated to the author(s) within a maximum of 1 week.

Submissions given a negative opinion during this process are returned without requesting a plagiarism check.

Withdrawal of Articles
Author(s) wishing to withdraw their work during the evaluation stage are obliged to send a petition requesting the article withdrawal, signed with the wet signature of each author, to the Editorial Board via email.

The Editorial Board reviews the withdrawal notification and provides feedback within a maximum of one week.

Unless the withdrawal request for works whose copyright has been transferred to the AgriTR Science Journal is approved by the Editorial Board, authors cannot submit these works for evaluation to another journal.

Editors' Responsibilities (Plagiarism and Ethical Violations)
The AgriTR Science Editorial Board is obliged to immediately initiate an investigation if suspicion of copyright or plagiarism arises regarding a work that has been published, is in print, or is in the evaluation stage.

Detection during Evaluation: If copyright or plagiarism is detected as a result of the investigation, the work is withdrawn from evaluation and the detected issues are returned to the authors with detailed sources.

Detection in Published or In-Print Work: If copyright infringement or plagiarism is detected in a published or in-print work, the Editorial Board carries out the necessary withdrawal and notification procedures within a maximum of one week.

AgriTR Science does not charge any submission or publishing fees.

Valerio Cristofori obtained the PhD (XVIII course, University of Tuscia) in Horticulture – Dissertation: “Qualitative traits of hazelnut”. Currently He is Associate Professor in Horticulture at the Department of Agriculture and Forest Sciences - Tuscia University. The research carried out is mainly focused on the evaluation of qualitative characteristics of nuts and fresh fruits as a function of genotype, orchard management and their interactions. As it regards the improvement of crop production, studies about the evaluation of the main parameters of the maturity process have been carried out as dynamic of dry weight accumulation, content of sugars, acids, lipids, fatty acids, starch, nitrogen, vitamins, polyphenols , and panel testing activities. Sensory analysis was also applied and the relationship between composition and scores of panel test were investigated. The characterization and evaluation of the main cultivars of hazelnut and chestnut included some aspects of interest for confectionary industry. Moreover, the effects of orchard management as orchard design, pruning and irrigation, on yield and quality of hazelnuts were taken into account in many projects. Other research activities consider the individuation, characterization and conservation of fruit tree germplasm, including minor species of nutraceutical interest. Another branch of research activity is focused on plant propagation by traditional methods and by in vitro technology, the induction of somatic embryogenesis from zygotic and somatic tissues, the physiology of rooting, the genetic improvement of fruit trees through conventional and biotechnology approaches (gene transformation, somaclonal variation). Concerning foreign work experiences He worked for one year in the Oregon State University (USA) in the "Breeding Program of European Hazelnut" and following many research activities as cultivar characterization, molecular characterization, fingerprinting activities and Markers Assisted Selection (RAPD, ISSR), microscopy fluorescence and controlled crossing of hazelnut. He has received invitation for cultural exchanges and conferences in many foreign research centers and academics involved in hazelnut researches (Inia - Carillanca, Chile; SAF Sichuan and Beijing, China; Ordu University, Turkey; Irta Reus-Constantì, Spain). The research activity is shown by more than 85 publications issued on international journals (traced on Scopus), in some book chapters and in many other publications in national journals and proceedings. Currently He is Principal Investigator of Local Unit in the European Project Horizon 2020 "Pantheon – Precision Farming of Hazelnut Orchards" (http://www.project-pantheon.eu/)and Principal Investigator of Local Unit in the Erasmus Plus Project "Examination of Modern and Traditional Application in Hazelnut Production" (http://www.hazelnuterasmusproject.com/en/about-the-project/summary.html).He participated on many national projects (PRIN, MIPAAF). He serves as referee of many International Journals and He is member of international and national societies of horticulture (ISHS; SOI; ANBM).
