Sembolik ve Sözel Biçimi Kullanma Öz Yeterlik Ölçeğinin Psikometrik Özelliklerinin Rasch Modeli ile İncelenmesi

Abstract

: Bu çalışmada, matematik öğretmeni adaylarının matematiksel ifadelerin farklı biçimleri arasında tercüme yapma hususunda öz yeterliklerini ölçmek için Klasik Test Teorisi çerçevesinde geliştirilmiş bir ölçeğin psikometrik özelliklerinin Rasch Teorisi perspektifinden incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaçla ölçek 252 matematik öğretmeni adayının oluşturduğu bir örneklem üzerinde uygulanarak elde edilen veriler ile maddelerin uyum istatistikleri, kişiler ile maddelere ilişkin güvenirlik ve ayırt edicilik indeksleri, maddelere yanıt verme hususunda benimsenen kategori yapısının etkinliği, test maddelerinin cinsiyet, coğrafi bölge ve sınıf düzeyi değişkenlerinin oluşturduğu örneklemin alt kümelerinde yanlılık gösterme durumu, testin örneklemi hedefleme yeterliği ve testin boyut yapısı incelenmiştir. Elde edilen bulgular örneklemin farklı alt kümelerinde ölçek maddelerinin yanlılık göstermediğini, uyum istatistiklerinin kabul edilebilir sınırlar içerisinde olduğunu, ölçeğin Rasch boyutundan başka boyut içermediğini, test maddelerinin öz yeterlik değişkeninin geniş bir aralığını ve kişileri ilgili niteliğe sahiplik açısından kabul edilebilir hassaslıkta ölçebildiğini, testin örneklemi hedeflemede yeterli olduğunu göstermiştir. Ayrıca ölçekte benimsenen kategori yapısının uygun olmadığı ve olumsuz ve olumlu maddelerin zıtlık oluşturduğu ortaya çıkmıştır. Elde edilen bulgulardan hareketle test maddelerine ve kategori yapısına yönelik önerilerde bulunulmuştur.

Investigation of Psychometric Properties of Using Symbolic and Verbal Forms Self-Efficacy Scale with Rasch Model

Abstract

The study aims to examine the psychometric properties of a scale developed within the framework of Classical Test Theory to measure pre-service mathematics teachers' self-efficacy in translating between different forms of mathematical expressions from the perspective of Rasch Theory. For this purpose, the scale was administered to a sample of 252 pre-service mathematics teachers and the data obtained were used to examine the fit statistics of the items, the reliability and discrimination indices of the items with individuals, the effectiveness of the category structure adopted in responding to the items, the bias of the test items in the subsets of the sample formed by gender, geographical region and grade level variables, the adequacy of the test to target the sample and the dimension structure of the test. The findings showed that the scale items did not show bias in different subsets of the sample, the fit statistics were within acceptable limits, the scale did not contain any dimensions other than the Rasch dimension, the test items could measure a wide range of self-efficacy variables and individuals with acceptable precision in terms of having the relevant attribute, and the test was adequate in targeting the sample. In addition, it was revealed that the category structure adopted in the scale was not appropriate and that negative and positive items were contrasted. Based on the findings, suggestions were made for the test items and category structure.
