Elementary School Teachers’ Opinions and Suggestions about Teaching Literacy to Autistic Children

Abstract

The purpose of this qualitative study is to investigate elementary school teachers’ opinions and suggestions about teaching autistic children how to read and write. Data was collected through semi-structured interviews. Participants of the study are elementary school teachers of six elementary schools in Anatolian side of Istanbul. Duration of each interview was between 20 - 45 minutes. Content analysis was performed on the collected data
