Bu araþtýrma, Milli Eðitim Bakanlýðý Talim Terbiye Kurulu tarafýndan hazýrlanan
12.07.2004 tarihli kararý ile 2005-2006 eðitim-öðretim yýlýnda uygulamaya konulan,
ilköðretim 6., 7., 8. sýnýf yeni matematik programýna iliþkin öðretmen görüþlerini analiz etmek
amacýyla yapýlmýþtýr. Araþtýrmanýn yürütülmesinde tarama yöntemi benimsenmiþtir. Kazaným,
içerik, öðretme-öðrenme ve deðerlendirme boyutlarýnda programýn deðerlendirilmesi
yapýlmýþtýr. Araþtýrmanýn evrenini, 2007-2008 eðitim-öðretim yýlýnda Ýzmir ilindeki resmi
ilköðretim okullarýnda görev yapan tüm ilköðretim matematik öðretmenleri oluþturmaktadýr.
Araþtýrmanýn örneklemini ise 2007-2008 eðitim-öðretim yýlýnda Ýzmir metropol, ilçe ve köy
ilköðretim okullarýnda görev yapan ilköðretim matematik öðretmenlerinden rastlantýsal olarak
seçilen 600 öðretmen oluþturmaktadýr. Ancak bu öðretmenlerin 280’i anketi yanýtlamýþtýr.
Elde edilen verilerin analizinde frekans ve yüzdeler kullanýlmýþtýr. Bu araþtýrma sonucunda,
matematik öðretmenleri, matematik programýnýn kazaným ve içerik boyutunda olumlu görüþ
belirtmiþlerdir. Fakat öðrenme-öðretme ve deðerlendirme boyutunda matematik
öðretmenlerinin görüþleri, programýn iþleyiþinin iyi olmadýðýný göstermektedir.
This research aims to analyse the teachers’views on the new mathematics programme
for primary school students in class 6, 7 and 8, which was put into operation in the academic
year of 2005-2006 in accordance with the decree of July 12, 2004 adopted by the Council of
Instruction and Education, the Ministry of National Education. The survey method was
employed. The programme was evaluated in terms of its content and advantages as well as
teaching-learning and assessment. All the mathematic teachers employed in the public primary
schools in the province of Ýzmir in the academic year of 2007-2008 constitute the population of
the research. The sample of the research, selected by random sampling, included 600 of the
mathematic teachers employed in primary schools in the centre, towns and villages of Ýzmir in
the academic year of 2006-2007. However, only 280 of the teachers included in the sample
answered the questionnaire. Frequency and percentages were used in the analysis of the data
obtained. The research concluded that mathematic teachers favoured the programme with
respect to its content and advantages, but that they experienced a number of drawbacks in the
application of the programme in terms of teaching, learning and assessment..
