Graduated from the Autonomous University of Madrid in 1979 and PhD in botany from the same university in 1982, I have worked since 1987 for the Spanish Council of Scientific Research in Barcelona. My focus are Compositae, espcially tribe Cardueae (thistles), covering systematics, evolution, and biogeography.
I graduated at Sofia University (Bulgaria) in 2001 and obtained my PhD in Mycology at the Institute of Botany of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (Sofia, Bulgaria). My primary research interests are in the taxonomy and systematics of the basidomycetes, the orders Boletales and Agaricales in particular, as well as hypogeous fungi (asco- and basidiomycetes).
Dr. Bugrahan Emsen received his doctorate in Biology at Karamanoğlu Mehmetbey University, Turkey in 2015. Currently, Dr. Emsen is an Associate Professor in the Department of Biology at Karamanoğlu Mehmetbey University. His research works are in the natural compounds and their therapeutic activities on various cell and tissue types. His skills and expertise mainly lie in the subject areas of genetic toxicology, biochemistry, molecular biology and herbal products. He has contributed in the publication of over 100 research papers.
