Rassima Salimbayeva – PhD, Associate Professor, Head of the Educational Programs «Ecology» and «Environment and Sustainable Development» of the «Narxoz University», Almaty, Kazakhstan. In 2002, successfully graduated from the T. Ryskulov Kazakh Economic University (now Narxoz University), received the qualification of an economist. After graduating from the University, entered PhD program in the specialty «Economics of Nature Management and Environmental Protection», received a PhD degree, and since 2006 has begun teaching in environmental disciplines.
During entire scientific and pedagogical activity, more than 50 scientific papers have been published, including publications in the international Scopus and Web of Science databases, 2 textbooks, 2 monographs. All publications are devoted to issues of economics, nature management, ecology, the latest works are devoted to the project management and sustainable development.
Has significant experience in conducting scientific research in the field of ecology and sustainable development, experience in scientific projects:
• 2015-2017 – work on the research of the grant project of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan «New Silk Road: from regional cooperation to the integration of Kazakhstan into the global economic and political space» the study of environmental risks along the New Silk Road, including greenhouse gas emissions along the countries of the New Silk Road and transboundary water problems of Central Asia.
• 2023-2025 – grant funding project of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan «The Triune Concept of Sustainable Development (ESG): business interests in the context of balanced development of regions». Current project.
• 2024-2026 – grant funding project of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan «Development of a methodology for assessing the sustainability of projects in single-industry towns in the context of achieving the Sustainable Development Goals». Project Manager. Current project.
Completed scientific internships at universities in Italy (Viterbo, University of Tuscia, 2014), the Russian Federation (Moscow, Lomonosov Moscow State University, 2016), the Netherlands (Amsterdam, Vrije University, 2020), in the USA (University of Massachusetts, Amherst, 2022-2023).
