Abstract
In this study, an examination was made on the essay of Füsun Akatlı, one of the writers of the Republican era. This review was written based on Akatlı's work called Rüzgâra Karşı Felsefe. In the introduction part of this six-part study, the historical development of the type of essay and its formation in Turkish literature are mentioned. In addition, the authors who wrote essay in Turkish literature were mentioned. In the first part, information about the attitude of the author is given in the essays, and in the second part, the essays are classified in terms of topics. In this context, critical essay, current essay, portrait essay, fantasy essay and necrological essay titles were opened. In the third part, who Füsun Akatlı is briefly mentioned, and in the second part, her works are listed chronologically. In the fifth part, Akatlı's essayist attitude is mentioned. Accordingly, information was given about her writings and style, their views on the type of essay are mentioned. The prominent features of the essay are that they process their essays in the mood of chat, support their essays by quoting them, their essay by concluding them and provide suggestions. In the sixth chapter, the essay of Akatlı based on her work called Rüzgâra Karşı Felsefe was examined.
In her essays, Akatlı has covered subjects such as theatre, literature, education, music, and intellectual-artist. While addressing these issues, she addressed language-related problems such as misuse of Turkish language, language corruption, and language contamination. Akatlı used a style that asked, questioned and criticized his writings because he reflected his philosophical identity to his essays. Her language style is plain, clear and understandable.
