About
Mission and Vision
The Academic Journal of Language and Literature (ADED) is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access periodical aimed at producing scholarly literature of global standards, academic originality, and methodological depth in the field of Turkish language and literature. Our journal envisions contributing to the dissemination of qualified knowledge at both national and international levels, while consistently presenting high-quality scientific outputs in the discipline of Turkish language and literature.
Essential Information and Editorial Policies
- Scope: ADED covers scholarly research within the sub-disciplines of the Turkish Language and Literature Department, specifically Old Turkish Literature (Classical Turkish Literature), Old Turkish Language (Philology), Modern Turkish Literature, Modern Turkish Language, and Turkish Folk Literature.
- Submission Type: In strict accordance with international indexing objectives and editorial policies, our journal exclusively accepts "Research Articles." Master's or doctoral thesis summaries (or any derivative papers therefrom), book reviews, translations, symposium proceedings, and review essays are not considered for evaluation.
- Publication Frequency: The journal is published three times a year (March, July, and November) within a single annual volume and is released solely in electronic (e-journal) format.
- Fee Policy (Diamond Open Access): ADED operates on a platin/diamond open-access model. No fees of any kind—including article processing charges (APCs) or submission fees—are requested from authors or their institutions at any stage of the submission, evaluation, peer-review, typesetting, DOI assignment, or publication processes.
- Annual Article Quota: To ensure academic diversity and fair evaluation, an author may submit only one (1) article per calendar year (within the same volume period) to ADED.
Submission Periods
To ensure the seamless management of editorial processes and adherence to international indexing schedules, manuscript submissions are accepted exclusively through the DergiPark platform during the following intervals:
- For the March Issue: January 20 – January 30
- For the July Issue: May 20 – May 30
- For the November Issue: September 20 – September 30
Peer Review Process and Double-Blind Evaluation
To guarantee impartiality, scientific objectivity, and academic quality, ADED strictly enforces a Double-Blind Peer Review system.
Manuscripts submitted to the system undergo a 15-day technical preliminary review and plagiarism screening via iThenticate by the Editorial Board; a similarity index of less than 20% (excluding references) is a mandatory prerequisite. Manuscripts that successfully pass this stage are forwarded to at least two (2) independent external reviewers who are experts in the respective field. Articles approved by the reviewers are sequentially audited by the Turkish and English language editors, followed by a final proofreading phase, before the Editorial Board issues the definitive publication decision.
Ethical Standards and Publication Ethics
To safeguard scientific integrity at the highest level throughout the research and publishing workflows, ADED meticulously complies with the Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing declared by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), and the Open Access Scholarly Publishers Association (OASPA), alongside the provisions of the Higher Education Institutions (YÖK) Scientific Research and Publication Ethics Directive. The journal’s "Plagiarism Action Plan" is rigorously executed against academic misconduct such as plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification, and redundant or unfair authorship.
Copyright, Licensing, and Digital Archiving
- Open Access License: All works published within ADED are made publicly available under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International (CC BY-NC 4.0) license.
- Copyright: Authors retain the copyright of their published works. Authors are required to upload a scanned PDF copy of the Copyright Agreement Form, bearing their wet ink signatures, during the initial manuscript submission.
- Persistent Indexing and Archiving: In alignment with the indexing structure of international citation databases, a DOI (Digital Object Identifier) number is permanently assigned to every article published in ADED. All published issues and the complete article archive are secured under permanent digital preservation and remain fully accessible via the DergiPark infrastructure.
