JOURNAL OF ACADEMİC LANGUAGE AND LİTERATURE (ADED) WRITING GUIDELINES
General Principles and Article Scope
The Journal of Academic Language and Literature(ADED) evaluates original research articles that offer scientific contributions in the field of Turkish Language and Literature, prepared in Turkish and English languages. The journal is published three times a year (March, July, November) solely in electronic journal format.
Article Submission Dates:
• March issue: 20 January - 30 January
• July issue: 20 May - 30 May
• November issue: 20 September - 30 September
The evaluation process of articles submitted to the journal takes an average of 60 days. Each article is reviewed under double-blind peer review principle by 2 internal reviewers, 2 external reviewers, 2 language editors, and 1 final reader. Studies detected with 20% and above similarity as a result of iThenticate similarity analysis are returned to their authors.
Articles eligible for publication must have the following characteristics:
• Must be completely original,
• Must not have been published in any medium before,
• Must not be under review in another journal,
• Content and submission must have been approved by author(s).
Only Research Article type works are accepted to the journal. Since the August 2024 issue, articles derived from graduate theses, translations, book reviews, and evaluation articles are not accepted.
Article Submission Conditions and Copyright
During article submission, the PDF version of the Copyright Agreement Form signed by author(s) with blue ink pen must be uploaded to the system. The copyright of published works belongs to the authors; however, they are made public under CC BY-NC 4.0 license.
One author can submit only one article in the same publication volume (annual period). The journal does not charge any fee for submission, evaluation, and publication processes.
No name can be removed from the author list of an article that has entered the publication process; no new author can be added or author order can be changed. Written approval of all authors is required for these operations. Legal responsibility arising from published content belongs entirely to author(s). The editorial board has the authority to make necessary corrections in submitted articles, to publish or reject them.
Article Structure and Format Requirements
Articles must contain the following elements completely:
• Title: Turkish and English (First letter of each word capitalized; no additional formatting),
• Abstract: 150-200 words (Turkish and English),
• Keywords: At least 5 (Turkish and English),
• Text Length: Must be at least 6,000 and maximum 12,000 words.
• APA 7 citation system is mandatory in in-text citations and references.
Articles should be prepared in Microsoft Word format using ADED Article Template. The article file should be prepared using Minion Pro font type. Main text will be formatted as 10.5 point, block quotes 10 point, footnotes 8.5 point.
Article submission is made through DergiPark platform with member login. The peer review process can be followed from the user panel; all reviewer reports must be waited for revisions and the corrected final text must be re-uploaded.
Resubmission of published or rejected articles after peer review is not accepted.
Ethical Principles and Mandatory Declarations
The Journal of Academic Language and Literatureadopts (COPE) standards: "Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors" and "Code of Conduct for Journal Publishers".
Survey, Interview, and Human Subjects Research:
• Approval from the author's institution's Ethics Committee is mandatory.
• Approval details (committee name, date, document number) are stated on the first page of the article and in the methods section.
• Data collection start and end dates are included in the methods section.
• Ethics committee document is uploaded to DergiPark as supplementary file.

Page Layout and Technical Formatting
Articles should be prepared with ADED Article Template (Minion Pro font is integrated). Page properties should be defined in the following standards:
• Paper Size: Custom (Width: 19 cm; Height: 25 cm)
• Margins: Top: 1.5 cm; Bottom: 1.5 cm; Left: 2.0 cm; Right: 1.5 cm
• Font Type: Minion Pro (Normal style)
• Main text: 10.5 point
• Table/graphic: 9 point
• Block quote: 10 point (1 cm indent from left)
• Footnote: 8.5 point
• Paragraph Properties: Before: 0 nk; After: 6 nk; First line indent: none
• Line Spacing: Single (1.0)
Special Provisions:
1. Minion Pro usage is mandatory including transcription texts.
2. Only the first letters of each word in article headings should be capitalized, no other formatting should be applied.
3. Spelling and punctuation rules are applied based on Turkish Language Institution Spelling Guide (except subject-specific exceptions).
4. APA 7th Edition citation system will be used; references section is mandatory element of the article.
